The project was in on-&-off development for several years, allowing screenplay & concept #art exploration. I expected #gamedev to follow the film, but the rapid development of Unreal Engine’s cinema features & industry adoption in Mandalorian convinced me to pursue parallel production. πŸ™
I previewed DUNEOPOLIS at Futuristic Arabia talks during ArtDubai and Dubai Design Week exhibitions.

I’m experimenting with episodic release of game demo & opening scene to introduce the world & its characters in their own mediums. The first character to make the move from sketch to film is Alif. #art #gamedev πŸ™πŸŽ₯
A storyboard is a skeleton of every complex production.
Greenscreen is being phased out this decade, but it will remain a major part of cinema’s history.
Storyboards are better in Dark Mode.
Middle Eastern futurism can be cynical, but it can’t be cold.

No action film is legit without someone crashing through a wall. Using physical props in combination with digital effects. Lots of broken foam & plaster till we got it right #gamedev #filmmaking πŸ™πŸŽ₯

The wall had additional pre-shattered β€œstunt double” wall that was re-assembled each take for more cinematic fragmentation.
My team art directing the fragmentation.
