Yes! And my personal favourite is The Other Wind. And Tehanu. And Tales of Earthsea is wonderful in the way its stories make the development of her feminism a part of Earthsea’s fictional history.

Boy howdy, people with money sure do think their opinions are important. We need to tax the rich so they don’t spend so much time in public, spouting their weird takes. If you want to read her original story, try Ursula K. LeGuins Earthsea trilogy. Beautiful and deep w/out anti-trans ugliness.

Personally I find Harry Potter derivative of so many better Children's Fantasy novels. www.2000ad.org?zone=thrill&... Meets en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The…. Then there's Ursula. JK wishes... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear…

*reads thread* If this is about Owl House Lady I hope she has an EarthSea's Ursula K Le Guin style... "Character arc"? They're both real people, but y'all know what I mean

Enten praktutgaven av Lord of the Rings illustrert av Alan Lee, eller praktutgaven av Earthsea-syklusen illustrert av Charles Vess.

Blurbs in the wild 2/2: . . . is to pitch the setting and the journey. A Wizard of Earthsea (book one) gets a whole paragraph: introducing our hero and set up. Paragraph two maps out the broader story, the themes and stakes, or why you'll keep reading.

It’s a pretty unique combination of generic elements! Mallory Towers plus magical adventure wasn’t in the market at the time. You could point to The Worst Witch but it’s younger. Horowitz’s Groosham Grange more comedic. Wizard of Earthsea more serious and austere.

A Wizard of Earthsea. The first time the concept of the Rule of Names was introduced, I had to set the book down and blink away tears, because I'd *felt* some sense of the power of names for years, and Ged and the wizards of Roke gave it shape and told me I was not alone.

What’s your favorite Ursula K. Le Guin novel?

I've only read Left Hand and Earthsea and they're fine but definitely not on the level their reputations suggested

And back then, the infrequent female-centered narratives were often confusing. When Ursula LeGuin published her fourth Earthsea book, I was shaken by the perspective shift. Re-reading it last year, it was hard to understand why it was so troubling years ago.

This is basically the first thing Ged does in A Wizard Of Earthsea.

Trolig en ekstra fin samleutgave av Jordsjø/Earthsea av Le Guin. Illustrert av Charles Vess. Eller en av de signerte bøkene mine. Eller kanskje heller en av de signerte. Kanskje Pratchett. Jo, blir det siste.

Reading Earthsea graphic novel and watching clips of Elden Ring... I realized how much Earthsea is in Elden Ring.
