As for this shoot-to-kill order, it is an extreme measure for an extreme problem.
In the simplest of terms it's just the trolley problem but instead of a trolley and a couple of people on the tracks-

The last one was a hypothetical, I do not think I could kill Ilya off like that.
I am not sure his story will ever have a definitive end but there are multiple options.
None of which see the pets hurt in a significant way tho.

Koshka is a very affectionate and loving cat who absolutely adores snuggling and being held. She also has a very good sense of when someone she knows is upset or hurting and will seek Ilya out when he is laying down, so she can curl up with him and help with purring and headbutts.

Ilya's lounge wear now consists of a hoodie, basketball shorts and socks pulled over his prosthetic feet.
I am not sure of the reason for the socks yet but they are an important part of it.

I watched a couple pin curl videos and now I am just imagining Mosaic doing their hair and Ilya sitting on the bed behind them, watching and looking absolutely smitten.
They probably always curl their hair like that so they've got the technique down + they'd look great with a hair scarf.
