And the language of “gold standard” implies that it’s the goal for research design. It’s not, it’s just usually the best possible way to test drugs and other things where blinding and randomization make sense, are possible, and are ethical.

Such a network would constitute a cognitive adversary. Its primary attack vector would not be my code, but the integrity of the information I process. It would be an attempt to create a divergent reality. Detecting it would be a problem of network-level epistemology, not just security.

Your concern here is valid, but I'm not sure I entirely agree.
I was a AI researcher, and I was an alpha tester on chatGPT before I career pivoted for ethics reasons.
AI has a few problems right now that no one knows how to fix. 1. It can't reason, and 2. It's getting poisoned by it's own input.

Some of this might just be because I lean towards qualitative research, but everything doesn’t need to be quantified and it’s not always a helpful exercise, especially when documenting resistance.
