Survivor Music | I Must Confess
Pathological Abuse is not love. It is performance, power, and pretense. What survivors must eventually confess is not guilt or regret, but truth. The hope they clung to was built on illusion. The bond they once fought to preserve was never love, but control disguised as devotion. Why abusers create these illusions is to secure absolute power. They perform charm and false confidence to appear irresistible, manipulate affection to bind loyalty, and use cruelty to reinforce submission. Their goal is to keep victims trapped between longing and fear, feeding their sense of superiority. How they achieve it is through strategic conditioning. Pathological abusers such as narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths dehumanize through mockery, gaslighting, coercion, and emotional exhaustion. They perform dominance as charisma, demand admiration as proof of worth, and weaponize intimacy to maintain control. For survivors, reaching radical acceptance is the pivot point. It is the moment the trauma bond starts to fracture. The illusion no longer holds, even though its echoes still linger. The confession is not to the abuser, but to themselves: no apology, promise, or potential will ever make the relationship real. This clarity is not revenge. It is release. On the societal scale, the same patterns appear in Pathological Societal Abuse. Leaders and institutions mirror empathy, promise protection, and disguise control as care. When exposed, they shift blame and rewrite truth, just as the abuser does behind closed doors. ℗ Cindy Ann Pedersen 2025 Survivor Music: Cindy Ann Pedersen | Award-Winning Songwriter Pathological Abuse Specialist | Advocate Connect: BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/cindyannpedersen.com YouTube: youtube.com/@CindyAnnPedersen Substack: https://cindyannpedersen.substack.com/ Website: https://www.cindyannpedersen.com/ Also featured on: We Resist Web Radio Collective: https://weresistradio.com/cindy-ann-pedersen/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/63zLgna4ymVAZTgyDXl4Xf Apple: https://music.apple.com/sg/artist/cindy-ann-pedersen/1778349950 ..available on most streaming platforms. Note: Pathological abuse serves as the umbrella term to encompass various manipulative behaviors and abuse tactics rooted in personality traits and disorders specifically associated with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), with or without psychopathy. The terms “narcissist,” “sociopath,” and “psychopath” may be used for clarity. These traits would meet the criteria for clinical diagnosis if formally assessed. Simplified language helps explain these tactics without requiring clinical expertise. #SurvivorMusic #PathologicalAbuse #NameIt #Music #Narcissist #Sociopath #Psychopath #IndieMusic #Songwriter #ProtestMusic #CPTSD #Manipulation #Gaslighting #Mentalhealth #ProtestMusic #StrongerTogether #StandWithSurvivors #NoWayBack #Democracy #IMustConfess #Awareness
