Blacksky, NorthSky etc will be here after the networks death should that happen

Because most of the time threads like this devolve into an "AP is obv superior because <xyz>" thing. Sure, Bluesky as a thing isn't decentralized. ATproto is. And that distinction seems to be conveniently forgotten most of the time. I mean, give me a few weeks and I can mimic Mastodon on ATproto...

I’ve toyed with the idea of providing either atproto accounts or full PDS ”as a service”, but I haven’t digged deep into the technical part because there are some things I‘ll need to figure out first:
- what will be my legal responsibilities for the things stores on that service I manage.

ATProto exists specifically to diversify and make takeover-proof the infrastructure of a network of community data servers.
We can start setting up independent PDS’s & etc now and be ahead when the US fed dot gov comes down on BlueSky LLC

bskyのモデレーションには沢山の意見が出てきました。
モデレーションは非常にデリケートな取り扱いが必要です。
投稿に使われた言語と投稿設定の言語の違いは、botには良くあります。
GrazeのCustom Nodesではそれを規制するものが紹介されています。
応用すれば悪意を持って使う事も可能です。
Mr.DevinがBANされたタイミングなので、その様な情報の提供のあり方の再考の機会です

Sweet summer child, if I had an entirely private PDS for my 5 friends there wouldn't be a @#$! reason to use atproto. That's a git repo... or signal group ffs
As much as they want it not to be, bluesky is more than just a demonstration of atproto. Ex-twitter people volunteered for this again

Bem mais fácil que a atproto do BSKY ... Pelo menos em termos de coding e como a info vem definida.
Único downside que encontrei foi que não achei em um post o link direto pro post root, ou seja, preciso fazer um traversal up na árvore da parada.

I have said for a while that the most obvious business idea is to create protocol-based equivalents (whether it's atproto like Bluesky or ActivityPub like Threads and Mastodon) of basically every platform that we take for granted but has since been corrupted by bigger forces like Slack, TikTok, etc

we, the atproto ecosystem, have failed you.
personal favorite is:
atproto = street
apps like bsky = different houses on the same block
each house can have its own party
you can see & wave to folks across the street
and even if one party boots you, you can take all your stuff elsewhere and party on

It is a client-side thing. The ATproto and Bsky API support it, but the native web/app clients do not. In this case I used the deck.blue client. For most of my bots (e.g. @faabot.paxex.aero) it is part of the code that creates those posts.

also it would be useful towards updating the version of bluesky-pds in nixpkgs to latest if the bluesky-social/pds wrapper was updated to v0.4.179 like it is in @atproto/pds. That way someone like Isabelle could bump up the version in the nixpkgs b/c it uses the bluesky-social/pds wrapper.

there's a lot of discussion around what it takes to host a full ATProto setup, including relays and appviews on your own, and that's where it can get pretty expensive. but on just the PDS side, I think it's been fairly cheap from the get-go. it's all a little confusing unfortunately
