Listened to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to get ready for the upcoming show. Enjoyed it very much but have no idea how they’re going to get more than one season out of three stories. Made me realize how much I’ve missed Westeros. #RootRootRead
Yesterday I finished another book for #rootrootread - We Are Big Time, by Hena Khan and Safiya Zerrougui.
It's a middle grade graphic novel based on the real life story of Salam School's girls basketball team of 2018-19. I enjoyed it, an above average graphic novel for 3rd-6th grade
Giving #rootrootread another try. My phone's acting weird, so I can't edit the bingo sheet at the moment. My last two books, both finished yesterday are below.
It will cover the read for thirty minutes and the author of a different religion squares.
Offseason #RootRootRead thread! Book checked out from the library is Patrick Radden Keefe’s SAY NOTHING, a heartbreaking account of the Troubles with a focus on Jean McConville, single mother of 10 who was disappeared by the IRA. (I read for 30 minutes uninterrupted every day, so that one was easy!)
My new off-season #RootRootRead thread.
My first book was this one and it was so good and I highly recommend it!
Checked out from library and read for 30 min uninterrupted
I’ve seen a decent amount but I don’t think we are posting enough. I just started reading Frankenstein today (I’m doing booth bingo cards right now). Can you believe I’ve never read this?!? There are a lot of classics I still need to get to.

It starts like any other kidnapped child drama, but in this 21st c. version, the girl is a YouTube ⭐️ with her brother. After coming home to her fame hungry parents, the story jumps ahead to adulthood where De Vigan imagines the real horror resulting from a childhood lived on camera. #RootRootRead
Listened to Bloom while taking my lunch walk. Since I can’t take a picture of my audiobook while listening here is a picture of downtown. #RootRootRead
So I’ve started my offseason #RootRootRead journey. First up was book checked out from the library. The Outsider by @stephenking.bsky.social was another stop on my Holly Gibney journey. She is a character I have come to enjoy very much.
Finished this last week while on vacation. A fictionalized account of the only children from the orphanage on Galveston Island to survive the 1900 storm. Well-written and moving, grim but uplifting. #RootRootRead
Hiking the Camino has been on my bucket list for a while, so I was primed to enjoy this multigenerational tale of adventure on the trail. It mostly didn't disappoint, even though the denouement seemed rushed. #RootRootRead 1/6
Excited for my #rootrootread holiday read. Straight from the mind of our own @ballparknationusa.bsky.social !! Jim, we need to get it on Goodreads. Anyone know how to do that?
Let’s talk books! I read The Reading List a few years ago and it was WONDERFUL! It was about a list of books that were life-changing or healing.
