Very much enjoying "97 Things Every Engineering Manager Should Know". There seems to be some sort of word count limit for each essay which leads to very tight impactful writing. I especially appreciate the clear and pithy titles of some of the best essays. e.g. "Busy Isn't Better".

Fanfic has truly cooked my perception of word count because I see original fiction writing videos be like โ€œ this person wrote 80,000 words in a year ๐Ÿคฏโ€ meanwhile almost everyone I know is cranking out 200k minimum to make two unhinged boys kiss

#NowIsTheTime to make every word count. As charity communicators, the language we use can trigger emotions, inspire action, and signal who feels seen (or excluded). For #NationalInclusionWeek, here are some tips from a past blog on developing inclusive writing guidelines: bit.ly/4nyZZB9
Tips to develop inclusive writing guidelines, including: 1. Clear guidance on writing about protected characteristics - Ensure to include clear guidance on writing about the nine characteristics from the Equality Act, as well as considering other important topics that shape peopleโ€™s experiences, such as poverty and mental health. 2. Get other people involved โ€“ Developing guidelines isnโ€™t a solo task. Gather views and opinions from across your organisation and beyond, including those with lived experiences. 3. Expect to be challenged - Language is personal. Opinions will vary and some people will feel strongly about certain words or phrases, their associations, and what is and isnโ€™t offensive. Embracing respectful conversations will strengthen the guidance.
Tips to develop inclusive writing guidelines, including: 4. Be specific - Guidelines arenโ€™t an instruction manual, but consistency matters. Decide on preferred terms and formats when communicating on behalf of your charity, while acknowledging where differences of opinion exist. 5. Check your knowledge โ€“ Understand how language shapes attitudes. Research the origins and impact of words to ensure your communication is accurate, respectful, and informed. Underneath in a green box, text reads: Inclusive language isnโ€™t an optional extra; itโ€™s the foundation for messaging that resonates widely, respectfully, and authentically. #NationalInclusionWeek

i already got over the impulse to document my process online with my writing (you will never catch me posting my word count or telling any of you about my deranged prewriting methods) and i think i should do the same thing for my photography
