I can't believe I made this. It's the most color-ish colored thing I ever did. I'm partially convinced that someone else made it and I stole it 💀 It's my alien species, the Nan-Te'gah, showing an option for their colors and skin patterns. . #art #NanTegah #ConceptArt #alien #OCsky #WorldBuilding
Digital art of a monstrous but humanoid alien (species: Nan-Te'gah). The alien has their head tilted down and glances up menacingly. They have a crude bone-like structure on their face, with strangely aesthetic swirls and tips. They have ears too, which are more like thick appendages attached to the head. Their skin color is a light low saturated green with red scattered stripes. The eye is cerulean blue. Art by Kathaja Krim.

Ugly 🤍 My species, the Nan-Te'gah. I want to show their actual colors, but not sure how to make it happen yet. Anyway, have this crude sketch in the meantime. . #art #NanTegah #alien #sketch #CreatureDesign

Sometimes I get asked about colors, so... I made a quick colored version of the Maardru. They come in many colors, but their belly and wings are always a shade of blue. The home world of the Nan-Te'gah is (or actually was) one of the most colorful in my universe. . #art #NanTegah #ConceptArt
Digital sketches of a flying creature, called Maardru, with its rider, a Nan-Te'gah. The Maardru is purple with a blueish belly and wings. The first sketch shows both the creature and its rider while flying. The second sketch shows a close-up of the rider in front view while they spread their own wings and lift off the creature's back. The third sketch shows the creature's head and the rider next to it, touching its snout affectionately.

I decided to call them Maardru. They were quite common on Qu'tar, while the planet was still striving. Their diet consists of plants that grow in shallow waters and small sea life. (cont.) . #art #NanTegah #CreatureDesign

Head details of my Nan-Te'gah species. Their planet consists of large oceans and countless islands. Therefore, they are well adapted to life in air and water. Their ancestors were predators who lurked or flew over the water and dove for their prey. . #art #NanTegah #alien #ConceptArt #WorldBuilding
Illustration of a Nan-Te'gah, an alien species, that shows the head in side view. The alien has four larger and two smaller appendages on their head, three on each side. Text on page: Head appendages are made of cartilage and muscle. Elongated tympanic membranes run along each of the four larger appendages and serve as sensory organs. Upper appendages: Specialized for detecting airborne vibrations and pressure changes. Lower appendages: Specialized for detecting underwater vibrations and movements. The appendages are also used to convey emotions by moving them into different positions. Active movement affects the membranes. While most self-generated disturbances can be ignored, the sensitivity of the membranes is dampened by active movement. Thus, increased focus or fear makes them eerily still. Nictitating membrane (third eyelid) can be drawn across the eye for protection, particularly when underwater. Outer teeth are part of the exoskeleton that covers the face. Lips close behind the outer teeth. The actual teeth are located inside the mouth, with pointed incisors and flatter molars. Canines are not prominent and look like incisors.

It's been a while! I spend most of my free time writing these days, so there's not much new art from me. There are also a ton of WIPs I should finish... .__. Alien species: Nan-Te'gah . #art #NanTegah #alien #sketch
Pencil sketch of an alien character (species: Nan-Te'gah) with four big ears and face plates that resemble a skull.

So, I thought about adding more teeth to the design of the Nan-Te'gah species. More teeth are always good, right..? . #art #NanTegah #alien #Scifi
Digital sketch of an alien character (species: Nan-Te'gah). Their face is covered with white skull-shaped platting, which has sharp edges mixed with playful swirls and a long rhombus shape on the forehead. The skull comes with four teeth. The character also has several thick horizontal appendages on their head, like strange ears.

The creature from yesterday and the Nan-Te'gah are from the same planet, called Qu'tar. You can see it in their eyes. They have double irises, usually a more prominent inner iris and a less prominent outer iris. It's a typical trademark of Qu'tar's inhabitants. . #NanTegah
Digital drawing of an alien creature, showing the eyes. Each eye has a small black pupil, enveloped by a saturated yellow ring (the inner iris) and a second green less saturated ring (the outer iris). The rest of the eye is a soft green.
Traditional drawing of an alien creature, a Nan-Te'gah, showing the eyes. Each eye has a black pupil, enveloped by a light ring (the inner iris) and a second darker ring (the outer iris). The rest of the eye is white.

This sketch was one of my first posts here, over a year ago. I still love it :} It's a Nan-Te'gah in some sort of pressure suit. Their planet's environment has become hostile, which made them leave the ground and live in cities of the sky instead. . #art #SciFi #NanTegah #alien

That's the "finished" art of the process video I posted earlier. I left it sketchy and worked in some digital highlights. The species is one of my own, called Nan-Te'gah. . #art #Nantegah #drawing #CreatureDesign
A sketch of an alien person, of the species Nan-Te'gah. Their face is partially covered with a bone-like structure, which reminds vaguely of a skull. Noteworthy is that at their forehead the bone-like structure forms a rhombus, the only straight lines in the alien's face. They also have six ear-like appendages on their head, three on each side.

I tried a digital drawing of a Nan-Te'gah and it even has a "background" 🙃 I'm trying hard to learn new techniques and every piece teaches me so much! . #art #NanTegah #ArtAdventCalendar #alien
A digital drawing of an alien creature in front of a light source. The alien's face and body is shrouded in darkness, only the head, "ears" and shoulders show a rim-light. Noteworthy are the eyes which glow in the shadows of the face.

[Nan-Te'gah] and their strange "wings". . #art #NanTegah #WorldOfKrim
An almost-full-body pencil drawing of an alien being. They have two sets of arms, one bigger pair and one smaller pair. The bigger pair is wing-like, with nine "firefly wings" growing along the lower arm and hand. The creature has all kinds of pointy ends, on their back and on their face. The whole drawing has a purple tint, just the eyes are blue.
A close-up of the wing while being WIP. Some parts are shaded, others aren't.

Oki, new platform.. new.. idk. How about a full version of my profile pic? It shows a [Nan-Te'gah], which is an alien species of my world-building project. Also, bonus sketches showing the same species. Some hashtags #aliens #art #monster Let's see what they do :D
A digital drawing of an alien person. The alien is shown in a side view, like a portrait, while looking over their shoulder. Distinct features: Skull-like face plating, 4 arms, several big ear-like appendages on the side of the head.
A pencil drawing of the same alien, but this time from a front view.
A fineliner sketch with quick digital shading - again the same species, this time wearing a helmet with thick tubes coming out of it.
And another finliner sketch of the species with traditional shading (ink wash), wearing some sort of pressure suit.
