Provincially here in Alberta hundreds of millions of dollars can be allocated to carbon capture projects that technically work but do nothing to solve the underlying problem while charities that address sexual assault or housing and can demonstrate clear societal benefits get funding cuts.

One of the great injustices of our time is that non-profits & charities must succeed 100% of the time in order to get meagre crumbs from the government. No room for innovation, no room for taking risks. And yet, the tech sector is like "MAKE CARS FLY?! MAYBE?!" & get flooded with government funding.

Also the vote should be limited to only men rich enough to own real estate, because Originalism— yet Monarchism was frequently held up as the ideal form of government, too 🤷

apnews.com/article/affo... The $60M grant termination is part of a flurry of funding freezes, staffing cuts and contract cancellations by the Trump WH at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Many of the nonprofits had committed funds to pay HVAC techs, local contractors, workers.

Thankfully, my family is helping to cover my insurance premium every month. And hopefully someone will give me a chance soon. I want my independence back so badly, but some days it feels impossible because of my healthcare costs and the job and housing market.

Extraditing someone for that? I just keep thinking this being made into such a big deal compared to the actual corruption *in* our current government for which there have been NO consequences whatsoever.

Key Areas of Scrutiny and Allegations

• Personal and Family Wealth Growth: Oversight trackers and congressional analyses estimate that Donald Trump’s personal net worth and family business ventures—spanning real estate, licensing, and digital assets—have expanded by billions of dollars during his second term. Critics argue these gains stem directly from mixing public office with private commercial enterprise.
• Cryptocurrency and Digital Assets: Ventures such as World Liberty Financial and related token projects have drawn intense scrutiny from watchdogs, who allege that foreign investors and crypto executives used digital currency purchases to seek regulatory favor or access to the administration.
• Pardons and Clemency Grants: Investigations by outlets like Reuters highlighted that a vast majority of clemency and pardon actions during the second term departed from traditional Department of Justice guidelines, sparking allegations of a "pay-to-play" approach for white-collar and corporate offenders.
• Gifts, Foreign Assets, and Infrastructure Projects: High-profile controversies include the acceptance of a luxury jumbo jet from Qatar intended for a future presidential library, multi-million dollar contributions toward a White House ballroom project involving public and private funding, and high-cost government contracts awarded to political supporters.
• High-Profile Personnel Scrutiny: Recent administration shakeups—such as the ouster of U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle following reports regarding requests for assistance with personal debts in exchange for political access—have further amplified ethics debates.
