Many traditional Indigenous folks in the Amazon Rain Forest have never seen snow or experienced cold weather. To them, snow and cold don't exist, because it's not part of their reality.

Non Indigenous people getting a day off for truth and reconciliation still doesn't seem right, especially since it's mostly banks and government that get it off anyhow.

You fake Picard want to be, of gaping failings. Your mental capacity is that of a dog that's shitting itself on the area rug.
Even that shitting dog is more useful than anything you have said, you are a low bit troll, with no hope of anyone ever caring what you think, only the trolls that agree.

Hula (/ˈhuːlə/) is a Hawaiian dance form expressing chant (oli)[1] or song (mele). It was developed in the Hawaiian Islands by the Native Hawaiians who settled there. The #hula dramatizes or portrays the words of the oli or mele in a visual dance form.

The heaviest parrot species can't fly but can walk, climb, and then glide from the treetops. Native to New Zealand, they can live for 90 years. All of this is new to me, a science writer/editor for 30+ years living on the opposite side of the globe. #birds #sciart

#SciArtSeptember 24 - Numbered The kakapo is one of the few species on the planet whose population is known exactly. After nearly going extinct, they have been intensively protected and managed for decades. After the recent death of Lisa, who was at least 50 years old, there are now 238 kakapos.

Illustration of a kakapo - a large, moss-green flightless parrot with an owl-like facial disc. The bird is sitting on the arm of a person. Kakapos have little fear of humans, as they are all tracked and regularly checked, and also naturally fearless, since they evolved in the absence of terrestrial predators.

Christianity was a weapon in the colonization of the New World by European Christians. Indigenous peoples who resisted the takeover of their lands were killed, and the rest were tamed by conversion to Christianity. Priests were essential to the conquest of new lands.

Nearly 300 people participated in the Native Plant & Seed Library this weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out to pick up plants, bulbs, and seeds—we love seeing our community grow pollinator habitat together. Stop by and get some native plants and seeds to add to your garden, yard, or balcony!

I’d cut my granny off if she don’t see it how I see it, but you think I’m gonna go back to your fuckass fast food joint?

I think a lot of these brands overestimate customer loyalty or how sticky their brands are. I’ll stop buying your shit forever and feel nothing.

I didn't do this specifically for the anniversary, but I have made a promise to myself to act as an advocate wherever I can. I hope it matters to any Indigenous person that I speak up for and also hope it sets an example for people who are not Indigenous, to be allies and advocates. /3

I was in Superstore yesterday and a security guard blocked an Indigenous minor from leaving the store while he peppered her with questions about stealing a pop, I told her she didn't have to answer his questions and I told the guard I didn't see a pop and to be careful because she was a minor. 1/

- as I was waiting for AAA. I was on the border of Mesa and the Pima Indian reservation so had cops from both. White cop from the Mesa PD? Really douchey and gave me attitude. Native American cop from the reservation? Super nice.
