I still remember where I was when I heard Freddy Mercury had died. Feels like a different age.

I am reminded of the double spread in Smash Hits of all the times Freddie Mercury put his leotard on back to front 😆 #QueenAtTheBBC

Allow these photos of Freddie Mercury astride various Supermen / Supermans circa 1979 to improve your Friday.

Freddie Mercury shirtless in a black leather cap, red vinyl(?) pants and a red tie on the shoulders of another Superman who is taking his job very seriously.

Just got a LinkedIn notification that an old coworker now has the title of "Distinguished Fellow", which good for him, but it's also a title that sounds like a euphemism that someone would use to describe Freddy Mercury to their upper-class British aunt

Anyone from Evansville knows UE churns out the stars. Before Jack McBrayer on 30Rock, before Kelli Giddish on Law and Order SVU, way before Rami Malek became Freddie Mercury or Mr. Robot, and even before Matt Williams created Roseanne and Home Improvement, we had Ron Glass on Barney Miller!

Today would’ve been the 80th Birthday for Ron Glass. Growing up around Evansville in the 70s and 80s, it was cool to see someone from the area excelling as a performer on a weekly basis. It was a reminder that beginnings in BFE are not a hindrance to success on the national stage.

I Want To Break Free was written by John Deacon which makes sense considering it asks more from him than almost any other Queen track #BBC4
