Pretty much the first thing I do on Bluesky everyday is check to see if this account has posted any updates. I've been using Tapbots apps for 10+ years and I'm so excited to support them here.

2 days agoWhen Musk bought it and shut down 3rd party APIs which killed TweetBot. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. 🤷🏽♂️

As soon as he pulled the API plug and Tweetbot became useless I was outta there, and now of course the joint is toxic as fk but tbh it was already toxic as fk when I left back in 2022.

Tapbots announced an Ivory equivalent called Phoenix about half a year ago, but I got a feeling it's not going well, because there weren't any updates… and Thomas from IceCubes hangs out here sometimes and had some prototype, but now he's back to playing with IceCubes in Liquid Glass.

Yeah, just looked, they're out of Honolulu. It's one of the best apps ever, up there with TweetBot, Overcast, and Pixelmator

I’ve been supporting them since Tweetbot 1.0. Now I don’t think the features are worth the sub price. Lack of ALT-text generator is the dealbreaker for me. It’s time to wean off Tapbots.

Also third-party clients. Tapbots, the developer of Tweetbot and Ivory, are working on a Bluesky client. Hopefully it’ll have the ability to disable reposts on specific accounts.

Missing posts is one of my biggest pet peeves here. I don’t want to scroll back in time and then realize the app only loaded the past 2 hours. Start where I left off and let me scroll to the present with a Load More? prompt at that two hour mark like I had on Tweetbot (also had edit. Kinda)
