The current Shetland Siberian Thrush looks good for an adult male from the photos I’ve seen (rather than first-winter, as publicised). Very gripped from thousands of miles away, which prompted a delve into the rabbit hole. A short thread. 🧵 #birdingScotland

KOS species of the month –
Ruff – At this time of year Ruff can appear anywhere along the coast such as Oare or Worth. All birds will look similar with none of the males in their plumed breeding finery, but males are much larger than females. #kentosbirding #kentbirding

Luckily, the Greater Short-toed Lark, found by Nathan Pickering at Snettisham late yesterday evening, was relocated at dawn before vanishing for several hours. A teasing glimpse late-morning stimulated further relocation efforts, with rich rewards for those who braved the rain. #NorfolkBirding
