Senate Democrats have offered amendments to stop rural hospitals from closing. To keep labor and delivery units open. To keep Planned Parenthood funded. To prevent millions of Americans from losing out on health coverage. The GOP voted against every single one of them.

Hard to believe I'm siding with the guy who spent $300 million to get Trump elected, but he's not wrong: Republicans’ plan to run up the national debt to hand out giant tax breaks to billionaires will be an economic disaster.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much to keep us safe. How has Trump thanked them? By carrying out mass firings that disproportionately hurt veterans. The Senate is voting on my amendment to the Republican megabill to crack down on those terminations.

Republicans seem more outraged by my floor speech than by stripping health care from 16 million Americans.
A headline from The Hill reads: Schumer warned on Senate decorum rule after ripping GOP colleagues over Trump megabill.

Karen Diamond attended a peaceful rally in Boulder to advocate for the release of the hostages held by Hamas, but became the target of a fatal antisemitic attack. These deliberate acts of terrorism against Jews cannot be normalized. My heart is with Karen’s family. May her memory be for a blessing.

BREAKING: An 82-year-old woman injured in a firebomb attack at a demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, for Israeli hostages held in Gaza has died, prosecutors say.

The votes are slowing down. They don’t have a bill. Still issues with Parl. Still disagreeing in caucus. Still fighting with House. Still no final language.

Unbelievable. While his party does all-night votes to rip away health insurance from millions, Trump hawks his perfume. Bet it smells like this whole bill — garbage.

Trump’s Big Bad Betrayal Bill will kick 10 million Americans off Medicaid and dramatically increase how many people in this country are uninsured. Republicans want poor people to get sicker, all to pad billionaires’ pockets.

Trump’s plan to eliminate the Department of Education is unconstitutional and reckless. Arizona’s Title I schools and the most vulnerable kids in our communities will pay the price. We're suing to stop it.

The Supreme Court just shrank federal district courts’ power to issue nationwide injunctions. This ruling is scary, but it does NOT eliminate birthright citizenship. We will keep protecting this 14th amendment right—this fight is not over!

If the U.S. were a household making $100,000 a year, we’d have $720,000 in debt and spend $20,000 a year just on interest. DOGE cuts would save a grand total of 15 cents. Trump’s “Big Ugly Bill” adds $4 to $5 trillion more debt. The math is simple. They’re making it worse.q

The rhetoric coming from several Congressional Republicans is nothing short of appalling. In a healthy democracy, it should be possible to challenge someone’s ideas without attacking their faith, calling for their denaturalization or deportation, or telling them to “go back to the Third World.”
