"with sparks from our love @introtesona / softywolf 'Light from the lamp on the bedside table filled the room with a snap of Jungkook's fingers. And Jungkook was frozen, inches away from this stranger he could /feel/, a strange sort of reverberation along his lifeline that mae it impossible to look away. It didn't make sense that this man was a shifter. He looked nothing like what Jungkook had been taught - savage and harsh and /ugly/. This man was the furthest from ugly Jungkook had ever seen. He was /soft/, skin pale as porcelain and hair a dark halo around his head. Even the thin discoloured scar across his right eye did little to harden his features. Beautiful and bleeding all over Jungkook's duvet.'"

This is a snippet from the fic I wrote for the GoldenHaven Zine. The title is "You make me bloom again" The snippet: Jungkook opens the picture, his heart rate picking up instantaneously. A barren tree covered with beautiful flowers; bright orange blooms covered in black or crimson spots, resembling a tiger's skin - where it got its name. Tiger lily. His birth flower. It’s still incomplete, but it’s beautiful, and Jungkook loves it already. He lifts his head, cheeks heating up as he sees Namjoon’s glaze. Namjoon’s resting his chin on his palm, a small smile on his lips. “You like what the tattoo artist sent?” Namjoon asks with a raised eyebrow. “Ye-yeah, I like it a lot,” Jungkook replies, glancing at his phone.

One Step Forward by 93kooker The question echoes in Jungkook’s brain. (begin italicized) Is something wrong? (end italicized) Yoongi steps closer, cradling Jungkook’s jaw in the palm of his hand. “Jungkook-ah,” he says, guiding Jungkook’s chin upwards until there’s no choice but to look into his eyes. Jungkook can’t bear the worried shadows shrouding his face; can’t bear that he’s at fault for that look. “What is it?” “Nothing,” Jungkook insists through a sharp breath, extracting himself from Yoongi’s careful hold to continue drying off and getting dressed. “Don’t do that,” Yoongi warns, barricading the path to the bathroom with his body, looking up at Jungkook in disbelief. Disappointment rolls off him in waves, and Jungkook tries to think nothing of it. Tries to pretend that it’s not his fault. “You know I don’t like it when you do that. Preview for the Golden Haven Volume I piece I've written, 'Rewrite Their Erasure', excerpt : Jeongguk intends to fight harm at its roots. He does not taste dread, he pictures freedom so clearly it appears behind his eyelids like a dream where he sees himself running, knows himself to be losing breath, words blurring into halted screams — where, if there were poetry, it would be spoken and cried and bled. No dread, no hatred; a thrill shared with the others, all playful in nature as he pictures himself consuming the edge. When he opens his eyes again, he does not search for Namjoon. He scans the text again, tasting his own gravity.

eleutheria Jungkook had always been, if not ashamed, scared of that part of him that didn’t quite fit society’s expectations. Gender was confusing, and so was the prospect of liking girls, settling in with one. It had taken him years to come to terms with his identity, understand who he was, accept himself. The two silhouettes embracing each other on the wall, tainted in lilac and golden hues, surrounded by blooming flowers, represented his entire journey perfectly. He saw himself in those lines: there was his childhood, his rocky teenage years, and his more secure adult self, all wrapped up in the same shape. And beyond that, there was the prospect of a warm future, shared with someone who would understand him. Friendship, companionship, romantic relationship: every shape of love was stretched out on that wall, in the purest form of hope.

A Safe Place to Land It’s a promise neither of them can keep, not with the way their lives keep pulling them apart, but here and now, Jungkook believes him. Because he knows Seokjin means every word, no matter how Jungkook’s brain gremlins sometimes try to convince him of the contrary. He’s heard those words from Seokjin before, and he knows Seokjin will keep on repeating them, as often as needed until Jungkook truly believes them. It will only be a matter of time before the final threads tying him to the river unravel and he’s cut off from his purpose. I would rather dissolve and become one with the soil that meets the water." As The Stardust Settles It's cold in space. That's the first thing Jungkook notices as he tumbles towards Earth. Ice clings to him as he falls, snuffing out his light the further he plummets. The fire that used to cradle him, keeping him warm within their flames, wanes, sparks flying from his skin as he helicopters down, down, down. The space around him shifts at a dizzying pace, a kaleidoscope of colours and lights drench him with each twist and turn. The earth catches him when he lands, nestling him in a Jungkook-sized crater. He lays there, stunned, as the last embers of his fire burn out around him, the night encapsulating him once the orange has faded to black.
