📌 #gamedev What you deliver does not have to be perfect for you or the team to be proud of it. Look back on the context and all the challenges you went through - you'll most likely be surprised at how much you managed to accomplish!

📌 #gamedev Making games is making compromises. Knowing what elements you must compromise on versus what you must focus on is the challenge.

📌 #gamedev My first thoughts are to wonder if your focus is clearly expressed when you apply to jobs? Being a jack of all trades can be a bonus, but only if it's very clear how you can bring an added value to a team's needs. Otherwise a clear focus is a safer bet, especially when starting out.

I’m a 3D artist with a bit of coding knowledge and some past professional experience on mobile games. I live in a state with almost no game dev opportunities. I can’t move away for multiple reasons and have been stuck working in passionless web design role for years. I’ve been working endlessly on my portfolio, networked constantly, and apply to any remote opportunities that I come across. I’m starting to feel like I’m just wasting a lot of time. Is it too challenging to break into the industry in a remote role? Should I just give up or keep trying?
