The Usual Suspects (1995) - Would be a masterpiece under a different director but it's still pretty good as it is (though without the twist as a surprise it doesn't work as well either) boxd.it/bPId5N

A ★★★½ review of The Usual Suspects (1995)

I think a lot of what makes The Usual Suspects so memorable is John Ottman's score and editing. That and the brilliant twist that I believe everybody knows because of cultural osmosis. There are so ma...

2 1/2 times the assignment! No 'Argentinian noir' but even that would be a stretch if I had picked 'Apartment Zero' -- I do love Mickey One! ... and Too Late, Love at Large, Before the Devil ... great list, lots of ideas for me - I'm joining Criterion Channel too late

#293: Nemesis Some of, if not the, most crazy gunfight scenes I've ever seen strung together by some frustratingly generic exposition. Also, I think there's something really unintentionally trans going on here with the male cyborg with the female brain. #filmsky 6/10 boxd.it/bPI1Jr

I'm no SW expert, far from it, but it's crazy how everyone on Letterboxd picks Empire as their #1. You can just search "Star Wars" in lists to see that everyone has the same ranking. Crazy! I prefer Return of the Jedi

I don't think we talk enough about how beautiful and weird and perfect Tony Leung is in Chungking Express. 📽️

I might not be a knowledgeable movie reviewer, but I think I'm a fun one.
My letterboxd review for Thunderbolts in which I say "can't believe they made a MCU movie about my depression"
My letterboxd review for The Bad Guys 2 where I wrote "shockingly horny for a kids movie"
My letterboxd review for One Battle After Another. I said "no other movie has showcased the abilities of the 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R as well as this one"
My letterboxd review of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. I wrote "It was nice seeing Dan Ackroyd in a movie"

The former is available via Vinegar Syndrome and the latter is part of the Criterion Collection. I find they are both in my ten favorite films of their respective years, 1981 and 1984.
