Open Your Eyes. 1997. Dir: Alejandro Amenábar. I saw Vanilla Sky years ago tho mostly forgotten, but the original makes an indelible dent. The homage to Vertigo, Eyes Without a Face, and, er, Total Recall?? — it’s a sci fi mystery thriller — is superior in all its grit & melancholy

Sometimes I do like a downbeat ending.
But I actually prefer the one on this blu ray and not the alternative ending that was shown in cinemas
