Deb and I went with friends to see THE HOUSEMAID, yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed the over-the-top thriller. Both Amanda Seyfried and Sidney Sweeney played their parts with gusto. And watch for Elizabeth Perkins. Definitely something different for the holidays. #theHousemaid #filmsky

Movie: Deck the Halls (Hulu) This was pretty good and legitimately funny. A bit too slapstick-ish at times, but I was okay with that given the ridiculous premise and PG rating. Plus you can't go wrong with Danny DeVito. #filmsky

Honestly the craziest thing about #TheOdyssey trailer...is studios still not dropping trailers in 4K on their main YouTube channels. 📽️

The score, cinematography and battle scenes are quite good. Some of the scenes reminded me of a train trip Marvin and I took out West in September (see photos). My ranking of the trilogy? 1. FORT APACHE 2. RIO GRANDE 3. SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON 2/2 #FilmSky #MovieSky #western
Movie still from Rio Grande.

First watch: RIO GRANDE (1950), last in John Ford’s cavalry trilogy. It’s a much more personal story of family and (attempted) privilege compared to the first two films in the trilogy, and it’s far less sympathetic toward Apaches than FORT APACHE (1948). 1/2 #FilmSky #western
Poster for Rio Grande.

Apparently I've watched at least one movie a week for 400 weeks, which makes me wonder what was so important 401 weeks ago that I couldn't be bothered to watch a movie.

Michael Mann’s The Insider was and remains the only journalists doing their thing film to have both earned and deserved comparisons to All the Presidents Men without drafting even a bit off its style. It's rigorously gorgeous and effortlessly compelling and adeptly led completely in its own right. 🎥
