Haven't started the commission I owe yet bc I was still in the middle of cooking this. I was issued a challenge by my DM @zauberdecke.bsky.social to do a version of Nikolai without the trauma along with my other character. Explanation behind design change in the alt text.

So. I will note the outfit is not final, but rather me putting the culmination of different ideas and broadstrokes I already had in mind in place for general reference/impression.

Besides the obvious of Nikolai's wings, fatter tail, darker skin (the equivalent of his skin being light olive with a tan), and no scarring, not much physically actually changes.

What truly changes is the level of confidence and color palette proportions that reflect that confidence and psyche. He'd be a lot more confident in being outwardly genderfluid in expression, for one, more confident in showing skin (a lot more of his clothing would be translucent, for example) and also, well... not needing to reaffirm the pride in his draconic heritage in his clothing. He doesn't need to put bite into everything, and simply allows himself to be soft and kind.

He will still need the support from corsetry though bc everything is heavy and he doesn't like to slouch if he can help it.

The gothy and dark elements in the clothing is still present as well, and there will always be a sort of edge to it, but theres no need to hide behind wearing primarily dark clothing, so no one sees him bleed. There's no need to assert any vague notions of masculinity, either, simply because he doesn't have to perform for his father's family. His horns would be a lot longer as well because he wouldn't have had to try and shave them down or otherwise hide puberty in all its forms. Generally... he's happy and safe with his mom instead. #art #dndart #ocsky #artsky

Finished the rework of Nikolai's refsheet, complete with personal touches that other people inputed during DnD sessions and other different flairs. Also discovered a couple of new techniques I like that's made this more convenient #art #ocsky #dndart

This is a reference sheet for my character, Nikolai Silverthorne. (Pronouns he/they) Nikolai is half elf and half silver dragon, with silvery long hair and skin, claws, scales, tail and horns that curve to the back of his head. The scarring and the flush of his flesh is blue and resembles frostbite on humans. They dress in a form that is gender nonconforming, with a palette that is primarily in black, blues, silvers and muted hues of lilacs and reds here and there. There is a collar around his neck made with metal and jewels that he can't remove, as it is tied to them via blood magic. There is an ongoing draconic and lunar motif as well throughout the designs.

Ellidove, eladrin druid. She's got red hair that looks like fire, tan freckled skin, and green eyes. She's dressed for working at a tavern, considering this is where she was employed for a bit before joining the party.

Yes our party is like... technically 5 out of 7 elf flavored in some way. Yes, Nikolai is partly an elf. He also has dragon blood so that's why he has horns, scales and claws. They're my assholes and I love them very much.
