thinking seriously renaming Kamen Rider AU Daisuke's Rider name to just "Lightni" so it matches with Rui's "Root" better. because if i do the reverse, "Rootmon" sounds very mouthful to me.

Kamen Rider AU - Rui's Rider form, which is called Kamen Rider Root. "Root" comes from the fact Ukkomon was perceived with the idea of being "the original digimon" and also the fact in Digica he can evolve from ANY Baby digimon apparently. He's the secondary Rider in the AU yes, you saw it coming

Kamen Rider Root's Helmet!! It's a little funky and cute with a touch of eldritch horror because... Well, BigUkkomon is really like that.

Btw this was also about the Kamen Rider AU -- a doodle about Daisuke and Rui as kids, since in this AU Rui was Daisuke's childhood friend so Rui-kun had someone to help him deal with the loss of his family and the injured eye.

[CW body horror] Kamen Rider AU thingy: The main Rider duo and this very Kiva-inspired fact markings.
Oh yeah, watching Kamen Rider Kiva, I just loved that one marking effect on Wataru and the Fangires because it was so cool... So I'm invoking that aes on those idiots in the Rider AU here. Daisuke/Lightnimon's markings are the same as Lighdramon's helmet and his eyes just turns red just like the digimon. Meanwhile Rui/Root's markings are more horror-esque and are just BigUkkomon's teeth on his face. Ah, and his only functional eye turns green like Ukkomon's.
I kinda think that maybe Root isn't as friendly as Rui and sounds more like a cursed rider than a hero. But hey, he's a good guy. He just doesn't seem to be able to control Ukkomon's power enough yet... So most of the time, Ukkomon just takes control. He tries to do the right thing. Except that the right thing always ends up being to fight and eliminate the enemy digimon. While Daisuke and Chibimon/Lighdramon tend to try to break the Demon Lords' control over the enemy digimon. Because it's not a Rider AU if the main Rider duo are not enemies for a moment right? :V (Ok, there's series where the main Rider and the secondary Rider are allies since day one, but i like making twisted dramatic angsty things...)

Sketching a few Kamen Rider AU ideas and then i just recycled my old idea of Taichi being a former Rider who keeps telling Daisuke to not be a Rider. Except now he's just the Kanzaki Shiro's antithesis I'm not good with Rider belts, so please accept this rough D-3 belt for now.
