Somewhere in the middle of the second season, I ventured to watch TNG. I did not (and still don’t) like TOS, but something drew me in, and I became interested. But it was DS9 that turned me into a lifelong Trekkie.

This is what plays him off so interestingly against a character like Garak, who considers himself a patriot working for a great good (as he might define it) but does not believe on any level, even for a second, that he's actually a misunderstood good person

“Star Trek: The Motion Picture” opened in Dayton OH two weeks late (something about cinema chains not having to blind bid on a film they hadn’t seen). By December 22, my dad and I were ready for the human adventure to begin. We weren’t disappointed. Yes, 2.5 years later we liked WOK a lot more.
