When it's not stoking hatred of immigrants, BBC News is campaigning hard against solar farms. Here's a project that was just unanimously approved by a local council - yet the reporter quotes no less than six voices opposed, and zero who support it.
A BBC News headline that reads "Solar farm approved despite counsellors' concerns". Published 30 October 2026.

This hits at something I've seen quite a lot. It always involves a man, who is somewhere between 40 - 70 yo, and he's just used AI to produce something and he's just in a state of rapturous delight. It's like he's been waiting for this all his life: the cheat code to being The Best Most Popular Guy

If you keep trying to have a conversation about how useful it is for writing emails nobody will read I just have to assume at this point that you're acting in bad faith because the obvious aggregate effect is that everything gets choked with spam until it dies.

It's hard to ignore that the national broadcaster seems mighty shy about speaking truth to power when pensioners are being locked up for protesting a genocide, but goes into pitbull mode when it comes to foreigners and renewables.

The BBC's current narrative is that national net zero regulations mean that councillors are forced to greenlight solar projects even when they don't want them - which is always for reasons of aesthetics. Their "hands are tied", you see. This is a Reform narrative.

Link below. There are literally hundreds of nearly identical stories on the BBC News website, all with a tight focus on airing NIMBY voices, and few if any perspectives supporting the multiple benefits of clean energy. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The whole reason why we have a climate crisis is because governments, bought by Big Oil, have consistently subsidized fossil fuel use and refused to consider the real cost of setting the Earth on fire. And despite rigging the markets, renewables are still 40-50% cheaper than coal, oil, and gas

NEW BRIGHT SPOTS: Finished Dieter Helm’s Climate Realism. Right diagnosis: emissions aren’t falling fast enough. But realism must include what has changed. Renewables dominate new power capacity. Electrification cuts primary energy demand by almost half. janrosenow.substack.com/p….

Realism needs today’s facts

Dieter Helm’s new book, Climate Realism, opens with a claim I agree with: we need to start with the facts.

Once they started digging this hole, the only way they could go was down. And still the police and government are digging. They'll see kangaroos soon. novaramedia.com/2026/10/3….
