popfeed is pretty decent, but we really do need a high quality dedicated atproto app just for movies, just for books, just for music, etc — an “everything” app in this category can’t out compete the benefits that arise from a focused approach dedicated to one specific type of media

from what i can tell, i think everyone involved would benefit from muting one another, disengaging, & going about their lives as they see fit — spending endless energy concerning yourself w/ what internet strangers think about you, your identity, and your place in the world is a recipe for disaster
the complex interwoven threads of discourse surrounding Northsky is unfortunate, all of the drama is so opaque and difficult to parse if you aren’t chronically online and knowledgeable of all the lore about each individual person in the saga — makes my head spin trying to follow things
dubious videos of animals doing cute thing have finally reached bluesky which is host to an audience made in a lab for being maximally triggered about such ai slop

additionally, for any closed posting system, the posts of the system must remain constant over time
human beings should refer to ourselves more frequently as fellow animals, mammals, and organisms — we have psychologically seperated ourselves from the rest of the natural world and lost vital understanding of our place in it
