Wild idea. I think consumers should be able to opt out of sharing an electric grid with data centers. I had the choice to pay a little extra on my bill to use clean energy years ago. I opted in, and the difference was minimal. Yet I wasn't given any choice about propping up a water guzzling Ai mill

This week, we lost one of the world’s greatest advocates for people and nature. Even in her final days, Dr. Jane Goodall was urging us not to give up, and now her legacy lives on through the countless voices she inspired. Read on Mailchimp: shorturl.at/lDxXk Read on LinkedIn: shorturl.at/VOiPa

Big blow to clean energy: USDA ends support for wind & solar on farmland – despite data showing they impact <0.05% of ag land & often coexist with crops. The UN calls renewables vital for cutting emissions & building a livable future. The shift isn’t optional – it’s essential.

Coverage like this is how you Individualize the world into doing nothing about climate change. The issue here is systemic, manufacturers need to change the inhalers. That will require laws. The solution is SYSTEMIC. It is NOT "shame people who use inhalers for their ACTUAL SURVIVAL"

The people who are most vulnerable to the hard-to-breathe air that comes with climate change may inadvertently be adding to the problem, new research finds. https://cnn.it/4pWQMoh

Nice to see this statement. I've heard that the cancellation of all these clean energy projects has caused absolute chaos among the unions, which have been preparing for specific projects, assigning experienced workers to them, and opening new jobs to backfill these moves— all now completely shot.

"By canceling projects and locking out IBEW members in the private and public sector, the President is sending a message that their paychecks, their families, and their communities do not matter." #IBEW Int. Pres. Kenny Cooper bit.ly/47bao0y

The tide’s finally turning. Renewables are scaling faster than fossils can fight back. Courts are blocking oil, gas projects are stalling, and clean energy is setting records from Spain to South Africa to the UK. Emissions growth has slowed sharply. The system’s shifting. 🌍⚡ #ClimateHope #Disruption

"Cool Your Jets" by Jamie Nelson, 2019

Series: Heatwave

Arty-Fact: In Heatwave, Jamie transforms the desert into a surreal stage where fashion, humour, and climate crisis collide. Set against the iconic Joshua Tree landscape, the series plays with extremes—heat and cold, glamour and desolation, absurdity and urgency. Models lick ice, pose with fans, or bury their heads in freezers—performing the act of cooling in a world that's burning.

Known for her bold colour and playful exaggeration, Jamie dazzles the viewer while subtly confronting them with the realities of climate change. Beneath the pop visuals lies a sharp critique: of our fragile environment, of beauty’s persistence under pressure, and of the absurdity of trying to stay cool as the planet heats up.

Climate science is clear: global emissions must peak no later than 2025. Labour MPs scored better than Conservatives, but most still got the year wrong. Climate denial or ignorance has a profound effect on urgently-needed policy. @eastangliabylines.co.uk

Has anyone added up the subsidies that the federal government, transmission grid operators, and electric utilities have given to AI companies so far and compared that amount (doubtless > $100 billion) to e.g. the entirety of IRA ten-year funding for clean energy technologies (~$350-400 billion)?

NEW from me: In his 2nd term, Trump has pursued the largest trade war in modern US history—with 1 glaring omission. Computer imports are almost entirely exempt from tariffs It's a special carveout that AI companies are now reliant on for their data center buildout🧵 www.apricitas.io/p/the-tariff...
