Thank you so much for the kind words β€” we really appreciate you using our service! πŸ™Œ Just a heads-up: we’ve actually added exact capitalization detection already through Auto Moderator. Here’s an example of how to set it up. Hope that helps streamline your feed!

You might find this setting useful, it was designed explicitly for sports feeds like yours
Pending Posts behaviour option, showing this feed is set to wait for labels instead of showing in real-time
Switching your feed to "real-time" will mean that all posts will be visible in your feed immediately, including:

While they are still marked as 'Pending'.
Before any posts are excluded due to their labels (e.g. label:spam, label:nsfw).
Before Auto Moderator moderates them.
This means that even if Bluesky's API is down, users will still be able to view all posts in your feed in real-time.

This can be useful if you run a feed that relies on posts being as up to date as possible, for example during a live event.

Posts will be removed later if they match an excluded label or are affected by your Auto Moderator rules.

You can still moderate posts manually while they are in the 'Pending' queue.

Check out all the good stuff we've been up to in the second quarter of 2025! You can find out about our new pinned post options, the option to queue your feed, allowed user tweaks, more help, more auto mod options and more ... And we're not done yet! πŸ‘€

... fall behind, which essentially is the process inside our service that waits for Bluesky moderation to apply labels to posts and runs Auto Mod rules. Running in real time does mean some dodgy things can slip in if your feed excludes by label, so deploy with caution. But that should help!

words which need to be hidden. You can make as many of these rules as you need for the given rules. This basically works as an additional layer on top of your main includes/excludes but Auto Mod can differentiate based on post language whereas the main settings cannot. Let me know if you need ...

I've actually just written this up for our auto mod library for any other users who want to use it - it's here. You can flag for approval, approve, deny, hide, remove posts which match the given language and also a term in the post text using this. You can extend the value lists for e.g. more EN..

Okay great, I do have a way to do that using auto mod, I'll fire it through via email in the morning. It is a tad involved to set up but only has to be done once & then will work automatically. Hopefully can reduce that noise for you a bit!

Oh and I meant to come back to you about your words/languages issue. We could craft an auto mod rule that says e.g. If the post language label is EN and it includes any of these words (which I was thinking might be your dual ones), send to manual approval. But I don't know if that would be helpful?

Hi Erik, yes, we can do this using an Auto Mod rule. If you're not using auto mod yet you can get there under Manage Auto Moderator, and then you can copy this rule straight out of my alt text into there and save it, and that will then start filtering new posts.
rules:
- name: Posts must have post text
  conditions:
    all:
        - fact: post_text
          operator: equal
          value: ""
  event:
    type: hide

Perfect thank you, that's help us track down the bug! Turns out it's because your feed is set to "real time", but this was tripping up when Auto Moderator approves the post causing the post to not get processed correctly for display. This will be fixed in our next release, maybe tomorrow or Monday

10) Filter tabs These let you filter the posts in your feed to match a particular criterion e.g. Auto moderated means acted on by Auto Mod. These tabs work with the bulk actions too so e.g. in the For manual approval tab, you can approve or deny all. #bsfchowto
Screenshot of BSFC Recent Posts area showing the tabs at the top of the posts column, which read All posts / Visible in Bluesky / For manual approval / Auto moderated / Hidden

Good morning all! It's been a while since we gave Auto Mod anything new to dig into so here's one we've put together today. blueskyfeedcreator.com/au…. This is for manual approval. It looks at a post in there and approves it if it matches a given number (you choose) of inclusion terms.

Hi! Do you have the toggle on the main page set to sort by date added? This might be a bug for us to sort out with auto mod.

You can't break your feed using Auto Mod*, so the best way to get started with it is to try it! Any posts it hides or boots into the approval queue will show up in the Auto Moderated column. * but you can deny a post and not be able to get it back without manual insertion, so watch that one.

The main limitation of Auto Mod is it doesn't look at the firehose - only at your feed and the posts that come into it. Posts need to be collected by your inclusion and exclusion terms first, before Auto Mod can act on them. You'll be surprised at how much it can do to make your life easier!
Screenshot of BSFC Auto Mod library, showing the rule "deny/hide posts with images if the post text includes a particular term". The rule goes like:

rules:
- name: Deny image posts if post text includes "ants"
  conditions:
    all:
        - fact: post_text
          operator: includes
          value:
            - ants
        - fact: has_images
          operator: equal
          value: true
  event:
    type: hide

Got an idea for something you want Auto Mod to do? Get in touch and we'll look into it for you - we might also already have a rule, because the Auto Mod library was set up quite a lot later than Auto Mod itself, so it's not a complete resource yet. Confident with YAML? You can make up your own.
Screenshot of BSFC Auto Mod Library showing the rule "Rate limit certain posters" which goes like:
rules:
- name: Rate Limit certain posters
  conditions:
    all:
      - fact: post_author_handle
        operator: in
        value:
          - blueskyfeedcreator.com
          - bsfc-tester.bsky.social

      - fact: rate_limit_posts
        params:
          over: 1 hour
          per: author
        operator: greaterThan
        value: 2

  event:
    type: hide

We have many facts Auto Mod can look at on a post, and you can assemble those facts into rules written in YAML. Or, just use our rule library and adapt from there! blueskyfeedcreator.com/au… You can use multiple rules in your feed. Posts which AM has acted on go into a special queue.
Screenshot of BSFC Auto Mod interface, showing a rule for a feed which grabs posts which have too much alt text (more than 1000 characters) or which have the post formatted like a list. It puts those posts into Manual Approval.
Screenshot from the BSFC recent posts area (this is now yellow! And there's also a Hidden column in the current version) with a purple arrow pointing to the column labeled Auto Moderated.

This feels like a good time to remind you all about Auto Moderator. Auto Mod can do some moderation jobs that you might find onerous. For instance, it can auto approve things that come into your manual approval queue if they meet certain conditions. Auto Mod is available to all users.

Yes! You could use this Auto Moderator rule to do that:

Hi Anna, you can do this now with auto moderator. This one is an example for embedded links: blueskyfeedcreator.com/au…. and you'd change the value to the term you wanted to exclude and set the action to 'hide'. You can reuse the rule for alt text by changing the fact to alt_text :)

Hi! If they're link cards you need to do that using an auto mod rule which I'm pretty sure is in the auto mod library in the help. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll help you track it down.

You can read a bit more about this rule here, or check out our auto mod library for other rules you might be interested in: blueskyfeedcreator.com/au…. You can change the character number to whatever you like. You can also use require-approval instead of hide.

We added an auto mod capability just yesterday that allows you to test posts for amount of alt text. Sometimes, when alt text is very long, the number of different words in it can trigger inclusion in feeds a post isn't relevant to. The value is characters, and it's measured across all images.
rules:
- name: Post has too much alt-text
  conditions:
    all:
      - fact: alt_text
        operator: lengthGreaterThan
        value: 300
  event:
    type: hide

Sure, here you go: a two different language example! In this case, posts going into a feed with this rule in place will be hidden if auto mod detects that they are not written in ES or PT.
rules:
    - name: detect language and hide posts if not PT or ES
      conditions:
        all:
            - fact: detected_language
              operator: notIn
              value:
                - ES
                - PT
      event:
        type: hide
