Went door knocking and met the loveliest lady, after I left she called my name from her window and was like "Candace is this your picture on this piece of paper you gave me?" To which I replied Yes and she goes "oh your lips look a lot fuller!" 👄💋🤣 Door knocking diaries never disappoint 🤷🏾‍♀️✨

Being critical of strategy is not the same as being critical of a diversity of tactics. Some tactics are less strategic, less helpful, and infinitely more dangerous than others. We cannot afford to be careless right now.

"Community Quick-build and Demonstration Projects" from Oregon Metro Government (May 2025). Great visuals and a list of references to other safety publications at the back. www.oregonmetro.gov/sites….

As you know, Mayor Wilson made a campaign promise to open 1,500 overnight shelter beds by December 1st and end sleeping and camping on our streets, and homelessness remains a top concern across the city.

Getting briefed on the Jan 2025 electric bus fire in Josephine County. This was a Gillig bus that was retrofitted for electric use. It was about 6 years into a 12 year expected lifespan. The fire was caused by a low voltage event in one of the cells. Has implications for safe charging practices
A screenshot of a blue electric bus on fire in a parking lot. There is a big black plume of smoke with gray skies behind.

Last month’s town hall was a powerful reminder of what a privilege it is to fight for Oregon's Third District in Congress. Stay loud—I’ll make sure Washington, DC hears every word.

This week, I had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for 73Foster, a new affordable housing complex which will bring homes for sixty four new families into Senate District 23. Congrats and thank you to REACH CDC and all of the community partners who made this new investment possible.

The horrific murder of Awdah Hathaleen—a nonviolent voice for justice—by Israeli settlers is not an isolated act of violence. It is the direct result of Netanyahu’s campaign to silence those who expose the brutality of his extremist, violent government. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/2….

I'm grateful for this analysis by @sightline.org of Governor Kotek's housing bills passed this session. Oregon needs to continue to aggressively pursue policy options to make it easier to build homes for Oregonians at all ages, wages and stages of life. #orleg loom.ly/4gpLtZk

Two laws in Oregon undo 100 years of local zoning to ban homes, opening opportunities for affordable choices, from duplexes to apartments.

70% of Trump’s tariffs are paid by the American people. These are illegal taxes — which is why we’re fighting them in court. #tariffs

Oregonians deserve clean waterways—full stop. The best time to act was 25 years ago when Portland Harbor was declared a contaminated site. The second best time is right now. In Congress, I'll fight for long-overdue justice for our communities who have lived with this contamination for far too long.
