Worked on extending the sand bar for today's #NightmareKart dev post! Not a whole lot to report here, I just made two more sand bar islets, the first of which has a cliff face lined with chevron arrows to help guide the player to the left.

Working on the beach level some more for today's #Nightmarekart dev thread! To start, I made a little (unfinished) underwater shortcut that will rapidly fill the drowning meter as a tradeoff, making navigating the following sandbar more difficult. Check it out!

Working on fixing some bugged FX for today's #NightmareKart dev thread. The 'surface type' function which spawned FX depending on the floor type was incapable of switching directly from one to another (i.e. sand to water) & required hitting the 'default' type to reset the function. This is fixed!

Working on the sandbar some more for today's #NightmareKart dev post! Took a very long time, but I created the underwater sections, making them darken as they get further down to help convey the depth and danger. I also tinted the surface water to be darker over these areas as well:

Working on the beach race track some more for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! To start, I finished the underwater section of the track, giving it a sharp drop-off lined with rocks and dark sand, while the camera refuses to go below the water level so the racer slowly drops below frame:

Worked on sound design ALL DAY for today's #NightmareKart dev post! The two main things I worked on was gross flesh noises sampled from a person destroying tomatoes slowed down by 50% (and processed further), and an 'evil aura' sound that plays when the aurora borealis fades in. Give it a listen!

Worked on the bone bike intro some more for today's #NightmareKart dev post! The cutscenes now fully integrated into the game with added VFX (but no audio), meaning that it will play on level load & transition into gameplay (albeit abruptly, with the boss mid-attack. will fix later!) Check it out!

Working on the bone bike intro cutscene again for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! (Once again: cw blood & cw gore!) I added some flesh to the bone bike's texture as a blasted clean skeleton didn't fit the whole 'half born creature falling out of a womb' thing. I also worked on the next shot!

Worked on making an intro cutscene for the train boss for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! The actual cutscene itself is a placeholder, but the actual functionality to load and play it (complete with a cutscene skip) is in, meaning that a proper cutscene can easily be added in later :)

Polishing up the beach arena for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! To start, I fixed a bug where the drifting tire trails would bug out in a very jarring way if the player drifts through the a teleport mirror. Now there is no weird floating drift trails when going through a mirror:

For todays #NightmareKart dev thread, I tackled a common problem common in most 1st/3rd person games, which is the reality of needing to turn around when passing an objective This problem is 100x worse when the player is driving a car so I came up with the idea of lining the arena with teleporters
