So far, I’ve always used those very expensive 1/8” Micro Cutters from LPKF (22€ each) for PCB milling. These tests with an 8€ replacement actually look quite decent.

Turns out it's cheaper (and far more fun) for me to bulk order blank PCB from @jlcpcb.bsky.social than it is to purchase 1oz copper clad fr4. They arrived in about 5 business days!

so apparently the Digiblast actually outputs RGB video through the TV-out port which is converted to composite via an AD723 chip. times like this I wish I had the soldering and electrical engineering skills necessary to make an actual RGB cable so I could capture in much higher quality.

Building a custom PCB for this sounds like so much fun. But it also is far more complex than anything I’ve ever attempted.
Should be a great learning experience.

Idle curiosity, and zero practical use,but it's running a Mistubishi M50747 which is a 65C02 derivative, so I've dumped the ROM and disassembled the code.

Fkn YES!! MOTHERLODE!! I had a hunch, in the search for unobtainable early Alps key switches for the HX-10, that probably, being a decent size manufacturer Alps put them in other machines too. What's from the 80s, has a keyboard and costs fk all because they're completely useless? Typewriters!

We cannot be fully sure why Youmu's eyes are coloured blue after Perfect Cherry Blossom, but one theory is that Youmu attempted the Blue Lemon Challenge inbetween the events of PCB and Immaterial and Missing Power.

Just did an end to end test of our laser driver (built without any commercial driver ICs) and receiver, good to 50 MHz which is good enough.

Im pleasantly surprised by how roomy the Kworld SA235 is. It also has labeled large test pads for the video signals, ground, and power.
I wonder how I can get an internal feedback loop setup. Something akin to lofifuture's VGA feedback gen, but in a smaller package.

Got my Tecmar Mac Drive working after recapping and repairing the power supply and replacing a shorted cap on the main PCB board. Very cool serial based drive that was available BEFORE Apple's HD20 hard drive solution. #Macintosh #vintagecomputer #retrocomputing
