"Was Caitlin Clark holding the Fever back?" - the greatest thread in the history of forums, locked by a moderator after 12,239 pages of heated debate.

So the Indiana Fever are a lot better with Caitlin Clark on the bench. I don't want to get involved in a discourse but uh. Yeah.

It's a huge world, and it has millennia history. Take a little trip though space and time. 🧵

I know things are terrible but I’ve come across another … unique item. Much smaller than a hundred-year-old harp case previously owned by a nun in Texas, thankfully.

Section 3.3 on AI hype cycles ("AI Summers") reminds me of a point from Adam Becker's More Everything Forever that I wrote a thread on as I read it. The history of this stuff is long ang interwoven with many bad actors.

MIT roboticist Rodney Brooks on p75 re LLMs: "a well worn hype cycle that we have seen again, and again, during the 60+ year history of AI[...] Get your thick coats now. There may be yet another AI winter just around the corner." To that I say, yes please. Let's chill out on pushing it everywhere.
