housing is a disability justice issue. i wish all of the housed disabled influencers would show up for disabled folks without family and without housing through partners or relationships, those of us alone with no access to health care. it’s all of us or none of us. a lot of grief tonight.

I thought I’d introduce myself. I am 31 years old on the autism spectrum and dealing with incontinence. This place is mainly for me to vent and maybe create community. #Autism #Incontinence #Disability

Why should accessibility be boring? Accessibility only works when it's boring and routine, not a special accommodation dependent on kindness. Angie Dixon has a simple request: people with disabilities should get to go to the beach, too.

**Accessibility Description:**

The image shows the back cover of a book designed to look like a beige brick wall. In the bottom right corner, there is stencil art of a person (shown in black silhouette) throwing a colorful bouquet of flowers. Near the top center of the cover, there is a quote in black text:

> "There's no way you're going to get a quote from us to use on your book cover"
> Metropolitan Police spokesperson

At the bottom left, there are price tags for the UK (£14.99), Canada ($29.95), and the US ($22.95), along with a barcode and ISBN number. A hand is partially visible holding the book on the left margin. The overall tone is humorous, playing with the idea of quoting a refusal as a notable endorsement.

yearning for a partner that is either also disabled OR is/will do the work to learn about disability, disability justice, and is/is willing to wear a mask when able. i don’t think i can date anyone that wouldn’t be willing to participate in disease prevention 😵‍💫

In case you're interested, Vestibular Migraine in Status Migrainosus is what I have, and why I am on long-term disability. For the vestibular portion, the prolonged state is dominated by persistent vertigo, lightheadedness, severe motion sensitivity, unsteadiness, and nausea.

Commentary: Importance of Disability Rights Voting Week

For the past 10 years, Disability Rights Voting Week has been celebrated in September. This is important to note because one in four people identify as having a disability. Disability rights organizations throughout the country hold various events to help people with disabilities register to vote, check voter status, and educate politicians about how people with disabilities cast their ballot. In 2026, this education is still desperately needed because exercising our right to vote is often filled with a bureaucracy of ableism. How do disabled people vote? If voting in-person we use ballot marking devices, which are voting machines specifically designed for a range of technology to accommodate a person based on their disability. As a totally blind person, I vote using a Braille controller that lets me navigate the ballot and headphones that come with the machine, which read the available candidates and races. Another option for folks who have issues using their hands is a puff and sip gadget that allows someone to navigate and select their choices through breathing. Depending on the county where a person lives dictates which machine they use because there are different manufacturers. The one universal catch is there is no guarantee the...

Was told this week I should get a job with a pension and stop what I'm doing full time. Maybe, but maybe I'll be fine with disability for my anxiety, taking care of the essentials in case I can't write. And maybe my writing makes an important difference in people's lives, and I should keep doing it
