Opposing antisemitism and defending the right to protest are not opposing causes. They are part of the same struggle for justice.
Opposing antisemitism and defending the right to protest are not opposing causes. They are part of the same struggle for justice.

Shabana Mahmood and this Labour government have repeatedly targeted the Palestine solidarity movement - hundreds of thousands of people, including many Jews, marching against their complicity in genocide, occupation and ethnic cleansing.

Anti-Zionism is NOT antisemitism, no matter how loudly bad-faith actors insist otherwise.

We cannot let them exploit tragedy to strip away our rights.

The Israeli Navy's interception of the Gaza Flotilla, 600 miles from Gaza, amounts to an act of armed piracy in international waters. I am especially concerned for the safety of one of my constituents who is a brave participant. Green MPs and Peers have called on the Govt to condemn this action👇

The Global Sumud Flotilla has been forcibly stopped in international waters by the Israeli Navy. We're calling on the Prime Minister to condemn this breach of international law, work to ensure the safety of those still onboard, and extend diplomatic protection to those seized by Israeli forces.

The Green Party rejects antisemitism and all forms of racism. We stand in solidarity with the British Jewish community today and always 💚

Yesterday's attack in Golders Green was an appalling act of antisemitic violence. The Green Party stands in solidarity with the British Jewish community.

GREEN PARTY
STATEMENT

This was an appalling act of antisemitic violence. Jewish people deserve safety and belonging wherever they live and we stand in solidarity with the British Jewish community. Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones and we pay tribute to the emergency services, including Hatzola ambulances, for their swift response.

My fellow Green MPs and I have written to the Foreign Secretary expressing our grave concern at the dismantling of structures needed to monitor and respond to possible violations of international law in the Middle East. This decision must be reversed.
Text of the letter reads: Dear Foreign Secretary,

We are writing as Green Party MPs to express our grave concern at reports that the Foreign Office has closed its international humanitarian law cell and ended funding for the Conflict and Security Monitoring Project run by the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) – the only programme in the UK that tracks and verifies human rights violations in Israel and Palestine. This is a deeply reckless decision at a time when there continue to be serious allegations of breaches of international law in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, and further across the region.
According to the reports, the removal of funding for the Conflict and Security Monitoring Project will leave the Foreign Office without access to a database of 26,000 verified incidents in the Middle East. That database has been used to monitor trends, assess concerns around potential breaches of international humanitarian law, and inform Foreign Office decisions on arms export control licences to Israel. Its loss would be a serious blow not only to sound policymaking but to the UK’s ability to discharge its responsibilities under international law.

In your Mansion House address earlier this month, you spoke of “championing” international law and described respect for the rule of law as a “core British value that supports our national interest.” We agree. But the government cannot credibly claim to place respect for international law at the centre of foreign policy while undercutting the very capability designed to assess potential violations, inform ministers, and support compliance with the UK’s legal obligations.

In light of this, we ask that you answer the following questions:
•	What assessment has the Foreign Office made of the impact of closing the IHL cell on the UK’s ability to assess potential breaches of international humanitarian law by Israel in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Lebanon?
•	What assessment has the Foreign Office made of th…
In the face of continuing civilian suffering and repeated warnings from human rights organisations, the government should be strengthening its ability to prevent and respond to atrocity crimes, not cutting it back. We urge you to reverse this decision immediately and to confirm what steps the government will take to ensure that the Foreign Office is properly equipped to uphold international law in practice, not only in rhetoric.

Yours sincerely,

For more than 25 years, the Metropolitan Police has been repeatedly found by independent investigations to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic. The brass neck is staggering. As Commissioner, Mark Rowley’s job is to serve the public, not to make political attacks. Shame on him.

100 days since the Govt was forced to release its National Security Assessment which said that ecosystem collapse is a threat to national security. Parliament has still not been allowed to scrutinise its findings. We must have a Parliamentary debate.

Nigel Farage received a £5m crypto donation from a foreign Bitcoin billionaire - while actively promoting cryptocurrency himself. That stinks. We will not let our British politics be bankrolled by Bitcoin billionaires. We do not want Donald Trump’s America to become Nigel Farage’s Britain.

Farmers shouldn’t have to pay the price for Trump’s idiotic war with Iran. The Government must stand up for Britain’s world-class farmers, protect our food security and stop families being hit with even higher prices at the shops.

I was horrified to see the vile antisemitic attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green yesterday. Antisemitism has no place in society, and we must do all we can to root it out. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the whole Jewish community across the United Kingdom.

1/2 Independent research warns the US-UK drug pricing deal could cost the NHS up to £64bn by 2036, resulting in more avoidable patient deaths than COVID. That’s why I have signed a parliamentary motion opposing a statutory instrument (SI) that gives ministers the power to change ‘NICE’ thresholds.

I have written to Kemi Badenoch demanding answers about Helena Kanaan, a Conservative candidate in Roehampton who posted that "Hitler was right." To endorse the Holocaust as the candidate for a ward with a Jewish primary school is utterly vile. Suspend her now and apologise.

Big Oil - the real winners of the war in Iran. As people in Norwich South and across the country worry about how they'll afford to pay their energy bills, oil companies like BP celebrate record profits - all thanks to sky rocketing prices off the back of Trump's war.

Graphic saying:

Nigel Farage took £5 MILLION from a billionaire just before announcing his run to be an MP.

But he didn’t declare it. Even though the rules are clear.

Another reminder of how close Farage is to the rich and powerful - despite his claim to speak for ordinary people.
