HT @petepaphides.bsky.social but this is a delightful find. Colin Blunstone as 'Neil McArthur' performing a cover of The Zombies' She's Not There for some sort of Pierre Cardin space-age fashion show. If you don't know this version it's gorgeous. www.patreon.com/NeedleMythol...
If you hate this too, then do subscribe to creatorsâ Patreons etc. Advertising funded podcasting is a terrible idea and mainly doesnât work, for lots of reasons. Sponsorship is ugly and hard to negotiate. Just pay for stuff and let people make it for you. Old skool. Hurrah.
This is well worth a read It has given me hope that work is underway to help transform the way we farm and grow food Huge global companies are involved - Nestle, McDonald's - plus banks and insurers are providing funding and initiatives (like lower premiums) to sustainable farmers
Get therapy. I had one of the best therapy sessions I ever had yesterday, it was awful. I feel so much better for it. The last time I had a session that made me feel as shite as that I was finally able to listen to my voice on recordings and be able to start making video clips
Who on earth was Marcus Agrippa? You'll soon discover Robert Harris's view (his new novel on Agrippa is out 27 Aug). On Instant Classics next week we talk to Harris. This week we explore the historical background to the man behind the Roman throne. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwNf...
Great thread. Theory of mind and AI. We use this imagery a lot in Broken Veil, cos it fascinates me. Corporate human-hostile space which has been hand-annotated for use by humans. Itâs basically the cake-is-a-lie graffiti behind the shiny wall panels in a Portal game. It speaks to us all.

More nightmares. In this one the person I was hanging out with got taken over by an entity that was going to try to absorb my consciousness and take over my body and as the fear ramped up to full she stared me in the face and said âIâm going to follow you out of this dreamâ

Trump wants a ballroom in Ireland. One man is having a ball fighting it. The tiny village of Doonbeg was all in favor of the plan, but concerns about an endangered snail â and âserial objectorâ Liam Madden â could derail the project. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2026/0...
Learning a lot about men in their mid-30s on dating apps, for example this year they would like to travel more. They go crazy for travel. On the weekend you can find them planning to travel. They want someone who likes to travel. Also their love language is physical touch.
There is no greater driver of economic growth than good public transport links. Look at the boom of the Elizabeth Line. People who whinge about the costs of it are just short-sighted morons. Ignore them and build everything. HS2. HS3. Crossrail 2. Trams in every city. Just do it.
This is all very Liz Truss Downing Street. Callow Tufton Streeters with Hayek cliff notes whoâve spent way too much time online. Reform not only looks in real trouble, but doesnât seem to have any ideas about how to get out of it www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Phil Lynott born August 20, 1949: "When I'm in England, I say, I'm from Ireland. When I'm in Ireland, I say, I'm from Dublin. When I'm in Dublin, I say, I'm from Crumlin. When I'm in Crumlin, I say, Leighlin Road. When Iâm in Leighlin Road, I say Iâm a Lynott."
One aspect of my job recently has been trying to find some missing files. I imagine I am a cold case detective searching for vital clues for a 50 year old unsolved murder case. The files are actually old reports about empty units in a few dull suburban shopping centres.
âYour one patient who was doing well after surgery gets blown up in his bed. That, I think, probably took the feeling of impotence and rage and helplessness to another level." Dr. Feroze Sidhwa traveled twice to the Gaza Strip to volunteer on the frontline of a collapsing hospital system.
Thread: Part of how we see the world is about where you come from. For me thatâs an awareness of the countryside & the city. The colours of the Irish landscape & the ancient culture of Ireland. You can see that in my one-off hand-drawn drawings, if you scroll down! [1]
