“Mr. Boone, who said he voted for Mr. Trump in the last two presidential elections, spoke of his post-grad years with an air of exasperation” and I get it, buddy, my post-corps de ballet years have also been a bit flat and I specifically put “turning ‘round fast” on my resume.

Rhode Island police chief confirms it was the FBI who identified & picked up the person of interest in the Brown University shooting That person has been released and the suspect is still at large This raises serious questions about Patel’s ability to lead the FBI & how functional it is right now
Rob Reiner directed one of the best cinematic examples of the importance of troops refusing illegal orders. A Few Good Men follows two marines on trial after killing a fellow marine. The came from above, but that they should have known to refuse it. Reiner was also a vocal opponent of Trump. RIP
ICE agents violently detained another disabled person, causing severe injuries. Arturo Ruvalcaba lives in Utah and is deaf. Three ICE agents grabbed him at a bus stop. He tried to use sign language to communicate his disability to them, and they interpreted that as “resisting arrest”.
Rob Reiner was an acclaimed actor & director but he was also a vocal critic of Trump He warned the American public that they only had a year to save their democracy That year is almost up Honour his legacy by fighting fascism. Fight for democracy. Fight for what’s right. Fight against tyranny.
Multiple sources confirming the death of Rob Reiner at the age of 78. His portrayal of Meathead on All in the Family captivated me at a young age. He directed some of my all time favourite movies, including A Few Good Men and The Princess Bride. Thank you for the art Mr Reiner. As you wish.
Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.
Trump is fighting against providing an ASL interpreter at White House press briefings ICE detained & injured a deaf man because they claimed his “sign language gestures” were resisting arrest They’re either not trained to recognize sign language, or they don’t care Disgusting ableism on display
Tiffany Shepsis-Tretta is the mother of Mia Tretta, a young girl who survived a school shooting. She was then locked down at Brown University during a second school shooting. Kurt values his guns more than her life. More than all our lives. People like this should lose the right to bear arms.
Rob Reiner isn’t even confirmed deceased and folks on the right are already spewing hateful rhetoric about his support of the Democratic Party and his criticism of Trump. This must stop. He has family, friends and loved ones. Some restraint and compassion would go a long way.
Masks are incredibly effective when they’re actually worn. They’re not effective when they’re in your hand, in your pocket, under your chin or under your nose. If you upgrade to a respirator like an N95? Even better! Mask up to avoid Covid, flu and stay healthy this holiday season.
A lot of Americans are weighing in on the tragedy at Bondi Beach in Australia & saying MORE guns is the answer. They should sit this one out. The fact that the shooters didn’t have automatic weapons saved lives. America has had more than 350 mass shootings this year. More guns is never the answer
“One is Susan Monarez, a former director of the C.D.C., who was fired by the White House…The other is Dr. Debra Houry, a former chief medical officer of the C.D.C., who quit partly in protest over the firing of Dr. Monarez. Both will now serve as consultants for the CA Department of Public Health”
Trump & RFK Jr recently unveiled their "Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy"—written by Drs Makary & Bhattacharya, plus Russell Vought, Stephen Miller, & others (full list on p4 of www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/u...) I'd like to ask them why their strategy includes pepper spraying toddlers
Bondi's murderous night was horrifying & seems driven by antisemitic hate. Other groups are treated with hate & rage. People of colour, those with different religious beliefs or gender identities, & women who are murdered every week. Maybe we should talk and do more about tolerance, control, & men.
Perhaps also part of that followup needs to emphasise that this horrible act of murder didn't appear to require automatic weapons. ANY guns can kill lots of people in the hands of hate- and anger-filled people. Reduce the guns. Work on tolerance and understanding.
It's fucked up how many guns and mass shootings there are in the United States, it's fucked up that people were murdered at a Hanukkah celebration in Australia, it's fucked up that genocidal war criminals like Netanyahu stay in power. Many things can be fucked up at once.
I have always dreamed of Neeson talking about my scientific work and f*** yeah, it happened!!!! Maybe not the way I intended it to be, but still 🙃😑 And I'm saying that as someone who's scientific work has also been heavily featured on the (web)pages of none other than the White House 💪
