This para from story on tsunamis tells me there is no copy editor. Right after talking about Russia, this first mention of "Crescent City Harbor," does not say where it is. “[We] mostly dodged a bullet,” said harbormaster for Crescent City Harbor, [which] saw deadly tsunamis in 1964 and 2011."
60 years ago today, the creation of Medicare and Medicaid transformed American healthcare — and, as a doctor, I've seen firsthand the difference these programs make. As governor, I’ll fight to protect these lifelines from attacks by politicians in Columbus and in Washington.
Alligator Alcatraz is a Concentration Camp That Sells Merch #ABlueView "A concentration camp is a place where large numbers of people, often targeted for their ethnicity, religion, political beliefs... are detained & confined under harsh conditions, typically without trial.
See he keeps using “boy” because he thinks it’ll provoke me. It’s an age old pejorative meant to strip away our agency and humanity. It also served to give white men a false sense of superiority to mask their obvious inferiority. He’s trying so hard but he’s unoriginal and lacks creativity.
A reminder that I've completely updated my main House District healthcare enrollment spreadsheet. You can quickly look up total estimated enrollment in ACA exchange plans, Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, Employer/Other coverage & Uninsured for all 435 House districts + DC docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
Trump's IRS is opening a pipeline for dark money to flood our political system. By undermining the Johnson Amendment, which has been in effect since 1954, dark money groups and megadonors will be able to exploit churches for political gain and get a tax break to do it.
‼️RELEASE the EPSTEIN FILES‼️ 😡 Mike Johnson adjourned Congress EARLY, hoping that people will forget that Trump & Epstein share histories of SEXUALLY ABUSING GIRLS & ADULT WOMEN‼️ 🚨I'm posting every day in August to ensure that MAGAs will not forget‼️ www.snopes.com/news/2024/07...
Where's the LIE!? Cory Booker Accuses Democratic Colleagues of Being ‘Complicit’ in Trump Agenda A routine move to pass bipartisan policing bills turned into a heated exchange between Democrats after Sen.Booker accused his colleagues of not fighting hard enough against the Trump administration.
"(MAGA) need somewhere to put their shame. Their rage. Their disappointment. Sometimes it’s immigrants. Sometimes it’s LGBTQ kids. Sometimes it’s teachers, librarians, journalists - sometimes, it’s a woman —who dares to remind them of what self-respect looks like." - @jojofromjerz.bsky.social
Advancing this stock trading ban is a crucial step toward combatting the greed eating away at Washington. Despite overwhelming public support, nearly every Republican committee member voted against it because they care more about lining their pockets than earning the public's trust.
Anyone noticed that while hollering for "young people" in Congress, not much notice is taken of those who are there? Even in a list of those under 40, several such as Jon Ossoff Summer Lee and Lauren Underwood are rarely included. There are twice as many under 30 than 80 and over. Dumb issue.
Texas stealing congressional districts is restarting the end of reconstruction when whites stole Black political power. Democrats need to redistrict in every blue state and wipe out republicans. Punch back harder and teach those mofos the lessen they should’ve gotten during Reconstruction. 1 of 2
@democrats.senate.gov and @housedemocrats.bsky.social MUST support this bill. If, in fact, restoring trust in government, Congress, and in the Democratic party is a major goal--and it should be--banning stock trading IS A FUNDAMENTAL STEP. And I also hope @evansutton.bsky.social is wrong, tho...
This map is a slap in the face to Texas voters, especially voters of color. The Texans who are sick and tired of Trump's corrupt administration deserve to have their voices heard in the midterms, but the GOP knows their only path to victory requires silencing them.
