Opened my meditation app for the first time in months and it was all "omg I missed you! So glad you're back, so proud of you, you're doing such a good thing! Shall we set some usage goals to keep you on track?" And frankly I find this rude, we both know I've been gone, just let me come back quietly
Maybe the Trump administration and congressional GOP will show how seriously they take fighting antisemitism? Lol. Jokes aside, pretty terrifying shit for us Jews. Because not only do these kids feel ok making a human swastika but also sharing it on social media. Hope their parents are ashamed.
Someone else said it with regards to the far right JFK is alive conspiracy stuff, but American fascism is weird because fascism is inherently nostalgia driven for a fake better past, but since America is young/weird it's just boomer nostalgia/"remember these guys?"
I've been thinking a lot about this: It's not a war crime, in that WE ARE NOT AT WAR. It's something even worse than a war crime, I think, with the understanding that war crimes are plenty bad. What's the legal framing of "the President made the decision to start murdering randos on the high seas"?
Rikers Island is a blight on New York City, on the current mayor, and on our legal system which continues to be stuck in the muck of inaction even as the deaths mount every year. Mayor-Elect Mamdani, it falls to you to #ShutDownRikers. @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social
Today is Sunday, Dec 7 Good morning ❤️ eat take your meds hydrate tell your people you love them let them love you back (and if you, like me, have come down with an unfortunate cold: tea & soup!) We are here. This is real. Let's build a home for each other and fight like hell.
"In so expertly depicting grasping climbers who happily make their livings by taking advantage of the gullibility and media illiteracy of other people, they’ve ensured that I no longer like those people... I’m not going to root for people whose job is ripping other people off."
The White House is ready to broker a summit between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Egyptian President al-Sisi, but conditions it on Bibi approving a strategic gas deal with Egypt and taking other steps to entice Sisi to meet. @barakravid.bsky.social www.axios.com/2025/12/07/e...
“There is only one way forward from this stagnate state of affairs: taking Palestinian agency and self-determination seriously. To do so, the international community and all relevant actors to this conflict must apply the lessons of prior peace negotiations, not just in 🇮🇱 /🇵🇸 but around the world.”
for what it's worth i'm not sure that the "Jasmine Crockett can't win a statewide race" conventional wisdom is as settled as people think it is. She's constantly doing resist media hits and for a base that wants a "fighter" she certainly appears to fit that bill. I wouldn't totally underestimate her
the reason no one with name recognition wants to run for Governor is that everyone wants to win a statewide seat in texas where they don't actually have to deal with texas politics. Who wants to be a Dem governor with *this* legislature? At least if you're a Dem senator you get to confirm judges
Every time the CFP committee makes their announcements, I’m convinced they’re just making bets on the room about how bad their excuses can be without people calling for a revolution. “We looked at wins for 9 vs 10, and when it came to 11 vs 12, we looked at losses. And mojo. Gotta have mojo.”
Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of DC entered a TRO last night preventing the DOJ from using the evidence gathered from Prof. Daniel Richman (James Comey’s former attorney) in the Comey prosecution. She held Prof. Richman is “likely to prevail” in the case.
Along Israel’s expanding Yellow Line, the war in Gaza never ended Israeli forces are advancing beyond stipulated boundaries, where Palestinians say supposedly safe neighborhoods are coming under fire without warning. By Ruwaida Amer www.972mag.com/gaza-yellow-...

While a Border Patrol agent ate at a Charlotte Longhorn Steakhouse last month, someone stole his uniform, badge, laptop and magazines. Aside from a Border Patrol uniform, badge and $2,000 laptop, a fanny pack with pistol magazines & a $2K Border Patrol radio was taken. Per Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD
All the Christmases roll down towards the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky that was our street ... In goes my hand into that wool-white bell-tongued ball of holidays resting at the rim of the carol-singing sea Dylan Thomas, A Child's Christmas in Wales prose
Some shows start to act as fanfic of themselves. I feel like one of the hardest things has to be keeping that narrative ascent. I think not being precious about keeping the characters and status quo intact is one way. When they start to pile up and things have to be found for them to do, they slow
Still possible and plausible given this country that Luigi didn't do it and another young guy with access to a gun and a grievance against health insurance companies did it. Because America. Which would also be weird considering how "Luigi" has become a verb with a specific meaning.
without birthright citizenship in the united states, you don't have a democracy and you don't have rule of law. revoking birthright citizenship gives fascists free rein to purge the country of literally anyone they don't like. it opens the door to atrocities and mass murder. i am not exaggerating.
Pete Hegseth ordered the U.S. military on Sept. 2 to kill all 11 people on a suspected drug-smuggling boat because they were on an internal list of military targets, the commander overseeing the operation told lawmakers, according to multiple sources. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...
