“Farm bailouts” don’t go to farmers. They go to… Seed companies, Agrichemical companies, Machinery manufacturers, Etc… This is why farmers blow their brains out when their farms fail due to economic factors, like tariffs and sanctions. Crop insurance doesn’t even cover it.

Good morning ppl! It’s the end of the first 100 days and on day 99, the port of Seattle was empty. This port ships mainly ag commodities to Asia and is the 10th largest port per volume in the US. This is not good for west of the Rockies farmers immediately and the rest of our farmers over all.

From our spot at NIH we look at this and feel similarly. When we see Democrats in Congress voting for Trump nominees it makes us feel like they’re not with us, that they are hanging #NIH and all federal workers out to dry. Do they not know what is happening?!

That’s a lot of blue. Canada got thru this election because of Trump’s rhetoric, but this is a scary map that isn’t dissimilar from the USA. Rural and urban people have to figure out how to communicate.

If we get control of gov again, we should pass a (retroactive) law: every biz has to have a men’s room, women’s room, transmen’s room, transwomen’s room and all have to be wheelchair accessible OR they can have unisex “one at a time” restrooms. Let America choke on that and maybe they’ll rethink it.

In the 80s, most farmers voted for Reagan. In 1985 the farm crisis was deep, most Dems said “fuck the farmers”. Willie Nelson however rose up above the crowd, started Farm Aid and saved them, keeping food on tables across the country. Right now, we need a Farm Aid moment.

There’s two paths for a country to annex Canada. The first is by referendum, which tonight’s vote says that clearly won’t happen. But if it did, the Head of State would stay out of it. The other is by force, which is a different story. The Head of State then gets involved and we’re at war with UK.

This lawsuit is about ending the RIFs. It’s big. And one reason this is important for #NIH is because it can help stop rescission massive budget cuts. Many of the contracting staff have been (allegedly illegally) RIF’d. 1/3

This is bad. The NCI BSC reviews its intramural researchers. This is a way to interfere with academic freedom at NIH. NIH scientists should select the scientist reviewers who review their science. Inserting politics into who is a board member is the definition of squashing academic freedom. 1/2

The only way the world could have made it better is if they laughed and pointed fingers as if they were pointing out a clown in the crowd.

Any normal administration would let the DC prosecutor have this. It would only be charged by the DOJ if highly sensitive national security information was taken and compromised (and the secret service agents wouldn’t escape that either). They just want to make a point that he’s undocumented.

Being a President has a tremendous amount of responsibility, and in that it’s one of the toughest jobs on the planet. But in reality, it’s not a “hard job” because every decision they make comes from a menu. How many of us get that luxury? Trump’s prob is he thinks it’s his job to create the menus.

This is dumb. Maybe needed 25 years ago. But today there a professional GPS units for truckers that show road signs, truck routes, low clearances and such in any language. And AR windshields are within 5-10 years of reach. Self driving trucks have been tested, they are not far off either.

We no doubt need to onshore certain industries to secure the next 100 years. But we don’t need to make everything and unbalanced protectionist policies weaken alliances which harms us as much (if not more) than not making….air fryers and fruit baskets. Every retailer should follow Amazon’s lead.
