It's official that I love UBC! Because, the partnership with UBC saved 4,810 USD of open access fee for our recently accepted Current Opinion in Plant Biology article! We also saved 3920 USD for our Cytoskeleton article! UBC helped me to save total 8,730 USD!

Spring survey: Boulder County edition. Mullein (Verbascum thapsus), thistle (ouch), prairie sunflower, and fleabane doing their thing. Pollinators rejoice, hikers sneeze. Nature’s annual rollout is right on schedule. #wildflowers #boulderbotany #pollenparty
A tall, fuzzy stalk of mullein blooms with soft yellow flowers in the Colorado prairie. The plant stands upright against a backdrop of grassy fields and distant mountain ridges beneath a partly cloudy sky.
A vibrant purple musk thistle flower bursts open, surrounded by spiny green buds and stems. The gravel path and golden foothills of Colorado stretch into the distance under a summer sky with scattered clouds.
A breezy cluster of delicate fleabane daisies with pale purple petals and yellow centers dances in the wind. The wildflowers sway gently in a field beneath a deep blue sky dotted with soft, wispy clouds.
A single prairie sunflower radiates golden yellow petals around a dark central disk. It rises from fuzzy green leaves against an open field with the Rocky Mountains faintly visible on the horizon.

In bloom Stockholm 250429: One of my absolute favourites - Myosotis sylvatica (Skogsförgätmigej). Mixed feelings; delighted as botany is my joie de vivre but also concerning, its too early, its not even may, climate change make spring arrive earlier and earlier. #tinyflowerstuesday #flowerreport

TN Artificer = Kenzie Fischer, bio/botany major in the Donovan-funded university. Ash Donovan killed her parents for illegal research and took Kenzie's little sister as a ward. Kenzie is going to finish her parents' research, cripple Donovans financially, and take back her sister.

A lonely Green-winged #Orchid in one of our fields this morning. It’s been there for the last three years and still has no friends even though the sheep are taken off in plenty of time! ☹️ #FarmWildlife @nffn.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social @jarawson.bsky.social

I think Masa would go for 3. With his background in botany/mining would come at least a bit of capability in crafting, and having grown up in a close-knit community would make him want to help people thrive in a similar way as well. He is not as suited for war-zone situations as Tarin may be.

✨ #WoLQuestion | #WoLQoTD ✨ Scenario time for your WoL: There are 3 people wanting your help. 1 in research in tech to help tempered people 2 in relief aid for war torn nations 3 in building new housing for nations rebuilding. Which does your WoL do and why?

#Cornus capitata, the Strawberry #Dogwood. Native to many places in Asia, and an uncommon landscaping plant in the US. I have yet to try this edible fruit, but I have heard it is bitter. #plants #botany #fruit #strangefruit #trees #naturalist 🌿
The fruit starts green and slowly fades into yellow, and eventually red as it ripens. Strange geometrical cell patterns adorn the outside, giving this fruit a mysterious appearance.
