A nice bryoparasitic fungus for #FungiFriday. I think it could be Octospora rutilans, growing on Juniper Haircap moss, Polytrichum juniperinum. Seen at RSPB Snettisham. #BonkersForBryophytes @RSPBTitchwell www.octospora.de/Nrutilans.htm

One of the special Liverworts at Eridge Rocks - Greater Whipwort, Bazzantia trilobata. Considering the amount of rain we've had recently, it was actually quite dessicated. www.britishbryologicalsociety.org.uk/learning/species-finder/bazzania-trilobata/ #BonkersForBryophytes

I couldn't get too close as it was on the other side of a fence, but I was pleased to see this Glittering Wood-moss, Hylocomium splendens, in woodland on the edge of Brockham Quarry. A moss I've been hoping to see for a while now, so I was quite delighted. #BonkersForBryophytes

The liverwort Overleaf Pellia, Pellia epiphylla (or perhaps P. neesiana?), on the banks of the River Beck in High Broom Wood. Whichever it is, it has a lovely (if ever so slightly out of focus) sporophyte. 🤩 #BonkersForBryophytes

Neat Feather-moss, Pseudoscleropodium purum, at Stonelees nature reserve today. "Common and conspicuous" it may be, but that's probably why I like it so much. 💚 #BonkersForBryophytes
