I used to drive by this hazelnut farm every day on my way to my gallery. The light in winter is so special--a limited palette of blues and golds can be used to paint an entire landscape. Thick brush strokes of oil paint are lathered onto the canvas like frosting, creating an almost edible scene that makes you feel the cold, crisp winter air in your lungs.

6. Pink skullcap moth The caterpillars eat skullcap & it's pink. Couldn't find a common name in English so I made one up. At least it's better than calling it the confused/the old lady/flabbled rustic/southern buttworm moth etc. (Ok only the 1st 2 of those are real.) #ArtAdventCalendar #Sciart.
