I've been thinking about something like this for a while. More so for steps, but the same ballpark.
iOS specific, but, @dame.is has a shortcut for writing ATProto records for their flushes app. Then I also recently learned Health has shortcuts too.

An appview is not required to be a perfectly accurate replica of the contents of all repos. It can be an opinionated subset of data you've indexed or even an accumulated value derived from a subset of that data. IMO feed generators are also "appviews"

on atproto i just make a flushing lexicon and if bsky.app (or any other client) decides to implement flushes that's awesome, otherwise it's siloed to flushing.im

that is true for sure, *but* even said interop in atproto is decidedly simpler to achieve. today, in tangled, we could in theory just subscribe to @flushes.app's im.flushing.* and populate our timeline with flushes instead. sure it may require varying levels of crud work, but that's app specific.

oh I see! So you wouldn't be able to universally query all past records from all users at once that were created from a lexicon, unless you had your own backfill of the network's data. What I'm doing for the @flushes.app main feed is I have a DigitalOcean droplet running a jetstream consumer (1/2)
