On my walk yesterday, I found some ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ท๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐น ๐ณ๐๐ป๐ด๐๐ โ which has been reclassified in North America from Exidia recisa to Exidia crenata.

Chuffed to find this small, unusual earth star in Oxford park. Either geastrum floriforme, daisy earth star, or astraeus hygrometricus ,barometer earth star. Due to differing thickness in the flesh, the rays fold over to protect the spore sac as it dries. #fungifriends #mycology

about 8 hours agoThe dog and I took a new route. Our usual is raised up from sea level. Engineered that way. Itโs all reclaimed land on one side and the Pacific on the other. This #lichen is thriving in the wiry bush on the reclaimed side of the embankment #FungiFriends this has to be the most orangey one Iโve seen.
