I will never accept DSV Dustin as anything but an impostor hahaha I can accept many things for the Alternate Universe purposes but I’ll always delete that Dustin and Dirk.

They also confirmed no relationship with dustin broke from del sol valley if you have that pack. Would love to see neighborhood stories hook them up for the laughs

I mean this sim is just Skip broke by name. He looks generic, and he’ll have no memories, no family relationships, no nothing. So we may as well just do it ourselves, just change the name to Tom Smith and thats it. It’s the good thing about lazy worldbuilding, it’s easy to undo it.

I think what they’re saying is skip broke abandoned his family and faked his death to join a silly commune. It wasn’t necessary. And what’s worse, it will have no real support in anything that’s actually in the game (actual relationships, memories, rest of the family etc), it will just be text.

Whereas in the sims 2 it was the opposite - the lore was not so in your face but there was a lot you could dig in and theorise about by looking at memories, relationships etc.

Basically trying to sound mysterious hahaha thats what I hate about ”lore” in ts4, it’s just a name or a household description. There will be absolutely nothing in the memories or the relationships or the actual game to support it.

Still: will he be related to Dustin Broke in DSV? No. Will his age make sense? No. Will the rest of the family be there? Also no. It’s just lazy world creation.

Because they’re just using the lore to get nostalgia points, adding nothing of value. TS3 didn’t always follow the lore to a T but added new interesting stuff to it. This is all just nonsensical stuff to try and appeal to nostalgia for sales.

I just dont get it - those who care about these premades hate it. While those that dont care, probably dont even know who they are anyway and wouldn’t care if Skip Broke was just a new character named Skip Smith. So, it’s basically doing nothing good

He’s not a child - I think he’s the one to the left here. But anyway it’s stupid because his adult son lives in del sol valley which means he should be dead. But of course they’ll think it’s very funny and nostalgic to say he abandoned them all and that there was no pool ladder accident

Every new pack they go to their jar of popsicle sticks with old townies written on them and pull out a couple. Then they throw a dart to determine the age of said townies. And then they sigh and say "ah nostalgia" they'll love it.

Yep, thats been happening to me for a long while too. It all comes down to the same issue as always: great idea, poor execution.

that’s my main concern with the pack too. In the trailer you could see that whoever was organising the getaway actually got money from it so it’s a bit weird. I really hope this doesn’t work like some kind of getaway business system.

I wonder if it’s part of a plan to then announce the sims 5 and backtrack on all that bullshit about not wanting the community to “buy everything again”. They would be able to use the same arguments they used when they announced the sims 4 about needed a more stable base blah blah

Yep, I honestly believe I’d have more fun with the game if they just stopped updating it and left it to the community. It’s clear they’re incapable of fixing it, and they just make the problem worse, so just stop it
